    Find the lane that is empty compared to the sky, in this example (I screen captured and edited from someone's youtube video lol), lane 1 3 and 4 are bad lanes due to the meteors in the sky.

    Lane 2 is a good lane but you can see there is an orange circle (danger zone) also in lane 2. So you have to be both in lane 2 and not on the orange.

    If you have red symbol blue is the safe zone. If you have blue symbol red is the safe zone. The knockback goes off before the spread so it will push the part members away from each other so as long as youre not directly on top of one another.


    an example cause text can be confusing: if your safe zone is on the outer lanes position yourself to be pushed "far" diagonally or left/right. if your safe zone is on the inner lanes position yourself to be pushed "close" by standing more directly in front/behind boss, knocking yourself into a wall.




    For meteors, spin your camera so that you can see the boss and the sky. There will always be a lone gap between the 4 lanes and the gap will be the safe zone. There are 3 waves of meteors so you need to quickly move to the next safezone when the next set of meteors are shown.
    ie.
    oo o= lane 1, 2 and 4 are dangerous, run to lane 3
    o oo= lane 1, 3, and 4 are dangerous, run to lane 2
    ooo = lane 1, 2, and 3, are dangerous, run to lane 4

    I’m at work now, but I think you just saved my bacon because, no lie, I wasn’t looking up at all so no wonder I thought the meteors were “random!” I will absolutely update this thread when I potently beat this tomorrow, thanks to this thread spelling out both crucial positioning mechanics!

    they've really amped up the number of fights where you need to look at the outside of the arena for tells in this expansion. if you aren't seeing a tell on the arena, outside the arena is definitely the place to look.

    Wait... your issue was with the meteors?! Are you new to the game, as in did you buy a skip or something?! It's the oldest mechanic in the game ever hello!?

    I downed the boss and I figured out the issue.

    The meteor phase where you look to the east was never the problem, there was a communication break in my expressing what was killing me. In the latter iterations of the lane selection phase, there is the spread effect that you WILL take, and that was the meteor that was consistently killing me... because I was almost always DOTed by hitting the edges. So once I mastered placement to not hit the edges, I was successful.

    Thanks to everyone that added their input. I don't know that I'll grind this dungeon (trust dungeons are just how I level in this game now), but I may get better at it over time because of this initial learning experience!

    My main is reaper and Arm’s Length was my answer because trusts don’t do the spread mechanic correctly. I died two or three times because of that. So I save Arms Length for the second knock back which is coupled with the spread markers. Worked like a charm.

    So I'm back at this fight as alt-job leveling content, and I'm literally still one major epiphany away from, like... "getting" one, JUST ONE mechanic that constantly kills me except the times that "I don't know how I lived but I still don't get it" kinda RNG happens.

    Now that I can look outside the tunnel of spoilers (not that I intend to spoil anything here but like, I was WAAAY sequestered when I started this thread, youtube locked down, the whole deal), and so not in a hurry, I can take the time to use the names of the mechanics to talk about what I'm having trouble with:

    It's the final and "repeat until dead" incarnation of Aetherial disruption.

    -I know to go the opposite color/symbol of what shows up in the middle of the screen.
    -I know to make room for knockback when it gets added, so as to not get DoT'ed at the edge, AND to make sure I only travel within the proper color.
    -I know to observe the spread effect that messes severely with the anti-knockback placement

    I do all of this, and after the spread meteor hits, a SECOND meteor is the thing that kills me. Always. When I die it's always this second hit. I look for tells outside the arena, I don't see them like I do in the "crumbling sky" phase, but every single guide says there's another version of crumbling sky that happens in this final mutation of aetherial disruption... I just can't see the tells, and so I run the boss until RNG doesn't drop that second hit on me. That's the only way I win.

    What are the tells? I've completed this place a grand total of twice and always after at least 5 pulls. It was 20ish my first time. I've literally timed this dungeon out on this boss. It's this ONE thing. I'm one "epiphany" away from being able to rely on completing this dungeon, but I haven't crossed that line yet and it's frustrating as hell!
