you still need enough sks to get 4 gcds into bloodwhetting and nascent flash. The change to maxing out your gcds in a defensive cd is much better than using it in inner release. This actually promotes good defensive cd gameplay and rewards you for it. Something all tanks should be doing instead of just WAR.

No need for "maxing out defensive options" if the content doesn´t force it. This game is about damage and that 1 hit less under BW won´t make a difference since it wasn´t even needed in the latest tier.
As long as sks won´t give more damage than full-crit / full-det, who cares? Otherwise we would stack tenacity too... might be somehow helpful in the next ultimate coming in 5 years, maybe...

There might be a few tank pieces with maxed Crit and can only put in 1 det materia before maxing that, which in that case might as well meld some SKS.
