Since the developers actually seem to care about our experiences during this period I wanna talk about the absolute worst thing I've experienced with the log ins the way they are. Twice now, I have waited hours to log in to the game. I'm fine with this. The game is typically worth the wait. I love this game and the community. (For real, ya'll have been great) I had to take a week off to repair my pc. I get back to the game. Play through the start of Endwalker, get to my first dungeon, assemble a group of players from my free company. We heroically battle our way through the first instance of the expansion. We have the final encounter down to 15% Health aaaaand I disconnect. I get kicked out.
The game logs out my character from the encounter, the dungeon and the server and now I am looking at a several hour long relog to finish a fight. Which would waste that same amount of time of my friends assuming it would even let me back in the dungeon. But no. I'm just gunna go sleep it off. But this game could really use a way to remember a players space if they get disconnected. "A hold my seat while I use the Rest Room" function. Cause getting disconnected in a dungeon you waited forever to run and having to wait hours to retry it is just a plain bad experience. Give us like a 5 minute grace period please. Its so depressing.

What error did you get when you disconnected?

The infamous 90k error usually followed by a 1 to 3 at the end. Nothing you can do to fix it on your end. It's a severe packet loss from the server when it rerouted the connection through a specific IP.

This happened yesterday to my friend, but were lucky to have an extremely short queue as well as their partner within the dungeon still to inform them she would be back within moments. They are on the same internet but only she was kicked with 90k error at least 4 or 5 times in Qarn. They lost limit break, but luckily everyone was very friendly within the dungeon save for disconnection issues and the tank without a job stone. They still have not clue why this was happening but could have been the way they were connecting through their vpn and the way one was connecting to squares servers was less stable than the other possibly due to more people connecting through the dropping connection friend line.

I completely agree with op, and have posted elsewhere that this should be a feature within the game giving time to restart your game because I know I always get the 'your character has been logged out incorrectly' error when trying to relog forcing me to restart the whole game each time. There is also the other error that happens to, the 'you are currently logged in on another device' because I am assuming the server still thinks you are connected to an extent when they boot you out. Than allow you to have you spot saved and get back to your duty which you have left to no fault of your own.

Sadly from all the issue that have been going on with Zero reply or any acknowledgement from SE about them I really doubt they care right now. Since the 6.01 patch I have been cursed with the DX11 error issues that make the game unplayable and the sound issues they tried to fix just got even worse. I haven't even finished the Endwalker story and I'm about to just cancel my sub and move on as I literally can't play the game anymore.
