Was doing experts on my SCH for quick tomestones for my alt jobs.
There shouldn't be any spoilers here... but just in case:
Got into the final story dungeon.
No first timers, so I expect everyone to have at least some basic knowledge of the boss mechanics.
Everything seems to go smoothly as we clear to the first boss.
He does his attack with the wind pushing the aoe circles, so the tank and I go to the safe corner upwind. Unfortunately, the DPS do not follow us, and they instead prioritize landing their positionals over dodging the circles, so they get hit... multiple times, and they instantly die.
I raise them, and when the wind mechanic happens again, they die again. I raise them yet again, the wind mechanic happens yet again, and they die yet again, despite the tank repeatedly yelling to come to the safe corner upwind.
Well, we kill the boss, and they then blame their deaths on the tank for moving the boss to the corner (the one where you don't have to move at all during the winds...).
We clear to second boss, and they once again drop like flies. This time it's the very first mechanic that gets them. I spend the vast majority of the fight raising them, only for them to instantly die because they used an attack (removing transcendence) while standing in an AoE, sometimes multiple AoE's at once. I raise one of them AGAIN, and while I'm busy raising the other one, the first is running to the front of the boss and gets hit by tankbuster laser, dying instantly.
Needless to say, that fight took much longer than it should have. Thankfully, they had no excuses for their deaths this time.
We clear to the final boss, and it goes just as well as you'd imagine. They would get hit by the butterfly beams, they chased the boss as he jumped around instead of just waiting next to the first circle, and they would not move when the boss prepared its glowing wing attack which would strike half the arena.
Once again, I ran out of MP raising them, so I just left them on the ground as the tank and I slowly whittled down the boss's health.
...And that's when I decided not to heal experts anymore.
Now for an unrelated story which happened today:
Queue into Mt. Gulg as dancer.
The tank pulls as much as he can, and he dies.
Everyone then starts running back to the entrance.
As the tank is respawning, I die. Then the other dps dies.
The tank respawns and gets back into the action.
The entire party then spends the next several minutes getting spawn camped as we repeatedly respawn and get killed.
After what feels like an eternity, we kill everything.
The run then proceeds as normal, but that was something I will never forget.
