But hydaelyn is never symbolized as moon though. If you say it's Azem (sun) meeting past emet (representative of zodiark, which is the moon), I can understand that. Though it's still a stretch too imo.
It's exceptionally easy to symbolize her as the moon after playing through the MSQ. She did make the thing, after all.
Venat as Hydaelyn made the moon. Venat was also the previous Azem. If anything platinum symbolises her, when you take what I just said and platinum's alchemical symbol into consideration.
I think y'all are reading way too much into it.
Platinum is a very interesting color/element. The rusty texture adds shades of black beside the silverish surface. Black and white. Dark and light.
I think it was implying that the Hydaelyn/Zodiark arc only existed as a basis or foundation for something beyond (they were literally created to serve one purpose), in the case of platinum, light and dark coming together to give rise to something made of both, but different. Which implied Endwalker's endboss would be something beyond Hydaelyn or Zodiark, and a new "foundation" made of both - which turned out to be dynamis. Dynamis being the realm of emotion is made of both extremes of light and dark. Meteion herself turned platinum multiple times, and she regains her color at the end.
The endboss being other than Zodiark is kind of spoilerish which is why Yoshi-P was so hesitant on the live letter when he mentioned platinum and insisted "I already said way too much."
Least that's my take on it.
