After Goobbue mount - do we need other mounts than a choco?

Nobody will complain if we only have chocobos. Many people complain with different mobs. Just add different colored Chocobos and all are happy, me included. As some people already said: You cant compare many different ridiculous mobs to ride with past Final Fantasy title mobs like a dragon that fit into the game and made sense with the story and also was just a little part in the game. Even cars or airships is not the same, because they were something special. Many of us like the coming Magitec Armor. It just doesnt make any sense and I want FFXIV to be something different than any other MMORPG. It should be epic and a little bit serious - sure not at all. Agh - it should be Final Fantasy. Just get this.

This is true for practical purposes and semantics aside.

Not really. It's just like a handful of vocal neighsayers on the forums that always s**t on everything Yoshida does. They'll never be satisfied, and if they were in Yoshida's position, they would be running this game into the ground. Just look at all the complainer topics, it's always the same 6 or 7 people that always complain.

I'd wager that the difficulty of adding a new type of mount scales up if they need to create new skins, graphics meshes/models, etc, and scales down if it's a reskin of an existing mob with existing meshes.

That said, yeah, they should add things that make sense with the game's current setting. Goobbues make sense because we've already seen a semi-tame goobbue before. It's not a huge stretch that there's a fully tame one.

Oh please, the lore was allready well established on how "Tamed" monsters are. Like I said don't try and pull that over on people because you know as well as I do that the "Lore" they threw at us was out of left field at contradicts the games established lore on how one binds a savage beast. (Note it didn't end well for Uldah) Unless everyone has a Thaumaturg stuck in their pockets 24/7...

Not trying to get into a big thing here but if you actually play through the rest of the Ul'dah opening story quests, it explains why that happened in the first place. Not much of a stretch to imagine that keeping a goob bound in a more beneficial situation would be a lot less taxing.

I mostly use my Goobbue, and I personally cannot wait to have more mounts in the game. They are fun to ride on and changes it up a little bit though I think once Chocobo breeding comes into play down the road and with Chocobo rich history if FF it will always be the most ridden mount. Also the Chocobo get armor and what not, they will look pimp.

I really hope they bring several variety of mounts to the table and maybe even a funny one like a Giant Dodo mount. Would be freaking hilarious.

I really don't think it has anything to do with a specific type of mount, as much as those mounts only being there to give some easy insta-hype, without any real substance to them.

Personally, I view them as event items. Fun for a while but most of the time 95% of them are forever "lost" on my retainer. It adds variety, for sure, but would be nice if we could do more with them, as opposed to new mounts just looking different. Not sure what exactly they're gonna do with Chocobos (except the armour). Breeding or racing possibly (fighting on Chocobos???)....

I'd love to see *insert mountable vehicle* racing included at major centres, with the amount of travelling that is required between areas, I already try and "race" other players travelling on the same path, it'd be a new way to get new/better/exclusive spoils, excitingly and objectively reaching destinations to continue your quest, going back to the original idea, itd also be good to have multiple mountables as a separate class system altogether
