    My collection of short stories.

    #1.
I am tanking, mostly oblivious to everything. Suddenly, I am Rescued.
WHM: "Don't stand in the wind, it damages you"
Me: "But it makes my hair wave all hero-like!"

    #2.
We are in manor with first-time sprout. I am a sprout with completion. With us are two veterans. We just kinda silently agree to let the first-timer do his thing and explore.
He approaches the barrier and stares at it intently for some time. Then turns around and looks at us casually standing downstairs. Then turns back to barrier. Some time passes, then he finally concludes:
    "I think it's locked"
Had a lovely run after that.

    #3.
Got into Thousand Maws of Toto-Rak.
Got first timer, me with completion, two veterans. Familiar setup, but those veterans start groaning about horrible roulette draw instantly.
Along the way to the boss they begin getting impatient and decide that if they are DPS, it does not stop them from pulling packs.
Fine, whatever. I can handle healing overwhelmed tank.
Then the final boss happens. Knowing how long the cutscene is, I've snuck out silently to grab a snack from kitchen. When I returned - Lo and Behold - two DPS are fighting the boss, I am pulled into arena and tank is watching cutscene.
    We wiped.
Reminder, the respawn point in that dungeon is FAAAAAR AWAY. And you have to run through -mspeed floor.
By the time we *almost* reach the boss, tank finally finishes watching cutscene, blurts something about being sorry for the wait and rushes into arena. And dies. Alone.
So now we are waiting for tank to run through green mile. In silence.

    Garuda expert.
We had at least 4 sprouts first-timers, including me.
Fight starts with jolly old "enjoy the ride" and instant pull, as per tradition of sprout mentoring. Wipe of the final phase due to certain feather being killed.
Three wipes later and it's sprout trying to explain the mechanics, while veterans groan and start getting impatient. Tank snapped and went on insulting spree. Apologized later.
I've explained to sprout tank what target marks mean and why is there is a STOP sign on the feather. Somehow nobody bothered to explain it to them before and it took a sprout in fight full of veterans to explain it.

Quite literally just had a tank(GNB) in expert roulette who wasn’t using any of his defensive cooldowns.......at all. I mean on bosses it was fine but during wall to wall trash his health was getting spicy. And then had the nerve to get mad at me when his health dipped too low for his liking. Granted, he never died but I was like....you have mitigation tools.

Been helping my DPS buddy out with quicker roulette queues by going on my Tank and taking a break from leveling my other roles. God the experience is even worse than launch.

Over the course of 3 days, various 90 dungeons and Expert roulettes, my brain hurts.

Day One: Expert roulette with a WHM. After the first wall to wall in Dreamscape, they /sit. We all stop and look at them. I ask what they are doing.
WHM: "I refuse to go any further because you're taking my role. You're the tank, I'm the healer. Stop healing yourself. I didn't sign up to just DPS."
ME: "... I haven't used Clemency once. My regular rotation abilities have healing built in. I can't stop that."
WHM: "Yes you can. Don't press it. Any other tank I run with doesn't, they just do the spinning aoe move."

My mind is blown. Keep in mind, I'm pulling wall to wall, successfully picking aggro up along the way on everything, and neither DPS is yinking a single mob away on our jaunt to the end of the pull. I'm doing my Paladin rotation and mitigating fine. Arms Length + Reprisal to start the big wall the wall packs, roll into Ramparts with throwing Shelltron into the mix when needed. Barely ever need to Sentinel as most packs die before its needed. Varying my pulls between a pack with physical AOE when FoF is up, and magic AOE when FoF is on CD so I requi and Holy Circle/Sword spam. The WHM threw out one Medica II, and then was Glare spamming. Not even using Holy.

My DPS buddy: "So you want him to gimp himself because, as you say it, all other tanks do it that way?"
WHM: "Do it or I'm reporting you for harassment. I'M the healer."

We vote kicked the healer. Got a SCH and the run went smooth as butter after, with the SCH thanking me over and over again for "Such a smooth ride, barely had to even heal you."

Day Two: Got Castrum for MSQ roulette. The other tank, I kid you not, put me on follow. Everyone could see it. We had two sages who kardia'ed themselves and not me. Lvl 50 mitigation isn't exactly the greatest and I'm struggling HARD to keep myself alive because I'm getting absolutely nothing in the way of heals.

Me: "Can one of you two sages put Kardia on me? I seriously need heals... I'm blowing through all my mitigations and can't even pull like a normal Castrum run. Please?"
    Sage One: "What's Kardia?"
Sage Two: "lol look at the elitist. Don't tell me how to play. Go heal yourself. I'm DPSing."

Thank the Twelve for vote dismiss...

Day Three: Castrum again! Oh joy!

All level 80's in tomestone gear outside of me and my DPS buddy. Dear god, the chaos. They were all skippers, had no idea what the dungeon was, how to run it, what to do, etc. My buddy was doing all the searchlights since good luck on explaining that. We tried explaining the normal gist of everything and four of them must've been a group together, who instantly started shouting at us that we "Have no right to tell them how to play."

We're not being nasty. We're literally just listing the mechanics.

This goes on the entire dungeon. They are scattering in different directions, pulling everything outside of the norm, the other tank was a solo sprout and the poor guy was so overwhelmed. I'm dashing everywhere trying to grab every add I can. It's chaos, utter chaos.

Then the parade grounds... Oh god, they pulled everything, wiped, and then left. Thankfully the 4 replacements were much better.

    Just.Let.Me.Finish.The.Raise.Cast.
Please don’t dual/swiftraise them in my stead. I will either waste 3-4 worth of GCD doing absolutely nothing useful and/or ended up wasting 2.4k MP per failraise.

Sincerely, your healer who had to hardcast raise 5 times in 3rd floor of new normal raid and 5 times also the RDM decides to throw in their dualraise.
You could break cast once you see a rez icon and go about healing or dpsing. Just a thought.

This is PF, but I had just started joining some more extreme parties for some more (hopefully) routine clears, so I could get my RDM and DRK their weapons. First half was going well, then all of a sudden my game just started lagging! I started panicking at this point, I know what mechanics would be happening, but no way could I avoid anything in this state. I assume I was killed by an aureole of some kind, but I don't know. Unfortunately, we did end up wiping in the end of that pull. I guess me telling people in chat that I was lagging, stressed them out - I do play a healer after all. The second pull was pretty botched, we just ended up resetting that one. Third pull, everything went fairly well, I don't think anybody died, and we cleared cleanly. God, I am so sorry about that. I don't know what happened, it was all fine, and then I was just struck by lag!

They wanted to go again, but just in case the lag came back I told them I'd drop. Hopefully they can find another decent healer. That was one of those "clear for one" parties that was truthful. Last night I was with another "clear for one" that was actually a clear for four, based on the achievements after the clear.

This has actually been happening to a bunch of us on Primal, so you're not alone.

You'll see the entire game suddenly seem to 'freeze'... but you don't pokeball, because your connection isn't actually frozen. In fact, if you do things (like attacking) anyone not frozen will still see you take those actions -- and anything you type in the chatbox will still show up for others. You just aren't receiving anything from the server for a bit, and then suddenly it catches up.

It happened to me during normal raid roulette last night (just once, thankfully), and a couple of nights ago during one of the extremes. I also had a healer suffer from that during expert roulette.

It also seems specific to a given instance; the extreme fight, we were teaching a couple people the fight, so we were in there a little while, and I kept freezing up. As soon as we cleared and left/came back into the instance, no more freezing.

I strongly suspect that a couple of the Primal instance servers are not entirely healthy at the moment,

I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.

Im not sure what it is today. I've been grinding levels in the 87 dungeon for various jobs today and hoo boy, the tanks and healers were... colorful...

1 run there was a healer that just stood still from the first pack of the entire dungeon, claiming the tank was going to fast.
1 run there was a tank that did not know how to use mitigation and advice fell on deaf ears
1 run there was a healer with full cryptlurker gear because apparently the dungeon does not have a minimum ilvl. needless to say, this healer ran out of mp on nearly every small pull the tank made to compensate for the low ilvl of the healer

    boosted player memes everywhere T_T

and to top it off: rngesus granted me full 87 dungeon gear for tank and healer, but not for caster or drg/rpr. Atleast I got 3 jobs to 90 so that is something I guess ._.'

I rly hate people who put their nose in other peoples glam and how they choose to play their character.
But I gotta say the low level of self-awareness from a guy today in roulette.
SAM in the full edgelord Rising Dragon PvP gear standing around posing with his backflipped sword and '' meditate sitting '' doing emotes etc gave our tank shit because her glam was a bikini.
At the start of the dungeon he was all like *Sigh*, and we went '' ? '' .
And he started going on about how '' generic '' it is and how '' every tank '' and it's '' so typical and cringe '' etc.

    Like bro, self-awareness plz lol.
People who say this in 9 out of 10 times either wear a PLD or DRK Artifact set and act like '' I am so original I wear plate omg look at me '' or they have the most easy and common edgelord glams.

The attention seeking is really annoying and cringe, you're not unique or original because you wear full plate or do a Metal Gear/ Genji cosplay.
And these people never have anything that's actually even slightly imaginative going on and yet they want to act like the glam police.

Edit: Btw the Tank was really good, he was not.
Tank wall to wall pull, proper use of CD didn't stand in anything, even threw the SAM a shield ( DRK ) because he was screwing up and standing in AoE.

People can have whatever opinions they want but keep it to yourself nobody asked and it's none of your business.
Sometimes I get comments too about playing female Highlander and people acting like I am unique for it ( especially other Highlanders ).
I get that it's meant as a compliment, but I think people try a bit too hard and think that they're more unique than they actually are and that it makes them better than others.
I've played a Femroe and Elezen before too, I didn't play them to '' be unique '' I just played them because I liked them.
Just play what you like and leave others alone and don't act like you're better.

I had this in The Dead Ends but a PLD and he just liked to spam Clemency and didn't use sprint or any cd's but still double pulled.
Healer dies at last boss and as happy as he is throwing Clemency on himself he doesn't throw me ( BLM ) or the Reaper any at all and we die from unavoidable AoE.

The most idiotic thing which kinda speaks volumes for how overtuned Tanks are.
    He almost killed the boss.
One of the worst Tanks I've seen and he still managed to almost solo the boss from around 40%.

I remember a couple instances of some smarmy commentary when I had glam'd the 2B set on my catboy DRK for a bit (mostly as a joke since I literally won the coffer on his first run of Copied Factory upon hitting level 80).

I tend to roll my eyes when some of my friends make jokes or stupid commentary about a 'generic' catgirl glam for X or Y class, too. Who cares, man. Most everyone's wearing it because it looks good. Such is the way things go when many people share the same aesthetics or enjoy the same glamour pieces.

That said re: my 2B-glam'd catboy, I once got into a Cosmos run where one of my DPS - upon us loading in and me sprinting off for the w2w instantly- said "I respect the drip lol". That was worth more to me than a couple stupid comments from weird dudes feeling emasculated because my catboy pulls off a dress better than their min-height Au Ra girl did. :P
