This. If you're there first and you want to keep it that much, fight for it. Otherwise, find another spotor try again later."I was here first" isn't an argument for/against anything. If someone rolls in and takes your spot and you are unable to hold your ground, then the mobs are theirs. There isn't any PvP or PK in this game so either walk away or fight for your spot until someone gives up.
They could be civilized and move on if they see you there (and some will), but make no mistake, nobody is being forced to be courteous.
I was farming bomb ash solo on my PGL yesterday. I was the only one there until a ARCx2 THM trio popped up about 20 minutes later. I did a /no to them, they all did /laugh. Most would think "Oh, three people are trying to farm over me. I'd better just give up for now..."
I tossed on my Hermes Shoes and out-claimed them until they eventually left after about 4 respawn waves.

Were they afk leveling? If not, you weren't disrupting anything because they weren't at the keyboard. Also, if you were there first, then they should have picked a better spot. While farming Molting Mitelings today for Diremite Webs, there was a party in my area "kiting" the Mitelings about 8 or more at a time (they would ride a chocobo through them and gain aggro, and draw them back to the party). This of course made it pretty difficult for me to farm my mitelings, so I started attacking the aggro'd but not claimed miteling at the end of the "train" so I'd at least get one out of the spawned bunch. After about 5 minutes of this the party went elsewhere, so I'm guessing this got them a little mad. They seemed to be doing this for exp (Level 29-32 players on 37-39 mobs) but I was doing it strictly for the webs to level up WVR with a 50 GLD.
What I'm wondering is, do you think this is against the Terms of Service? Specifically this line:
"Disruptive behavior that negatively affects the experience of others or the service itself is strictly forbidden within FINAL FANTASY XIV."
Some could say I was disrupting their gameplay by killing one of their 8 in the train, but:
1) It was not claimed
2) I was able to attack it, so I feel it's free for all at that point and
3) If you're pulling 8 mobs at a time, you can afford to let someone have one.
Some may say it's not "nice" to kill one in the train, but my thoughts are that it's greedy to take them all in the first place. What are your thoughts?

Not cheating when Yoshi put it in the game as a mechanic.
Is using the lift cheating?
Is using the a chocobo cheating?
Is walking cheating?
All things put in the game, that Yoshi wanted.
Remember the "lv 10 in lv 50 pt" got patched, PLing didnt, because Yoshi implemented it, and stated he wanted pling!
So jelly =D, as for OP:
No its not against TOS, dont be silly. unclaimed is unclaimed (tho LOL at their crappy PLing technique they deserve to lose mobs.....), it wouldnt be nice if you just stormed in tho and started killing, but against not against TOS. If you were purposely grieving you could get a GM warning (been there lols), and then finally you could just move camp, there is like 5 mite camps around Nophica...

Something much older than Yoshi-P, ToS or SE itself: "The needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few."Not cheating when Yoshi put it in the game as a mechanic.

My signature is edible. Go ahead, try some.
That's not surprising.

If you were there first, just keep claiming several at a time til they get frustrated and leave. Always worked for me. If they were there first just find another place.
Also, webs specifically are not that great of a drop rate. It's better to do gathering and make money and buy them than it is to spend time farming them off diremites. Just my opinion.

Well .. it's apart of the MMO community. It'll happen, so suck it up and move to another camp, or wait it out. Or, you'll get this:
