    I am still confused why SMN, a ranged DPS, has a gap closer that it is encouraged to use frequently to combo into Crimson Strike but doesn't have either:

    1) A quick means of recreating some distance from enemies like RDM has.

    2) Other melee abilities that actually add value to being in close range.

    I have the same misgivings about Sage's Icarus. Are these abilities supposed to only be situational and give the jobs a basic melee option? Because Crimson Cyclone, at least as presented to me, doesn't seem designed to be "optional."

    I find it quite useful as we are in melee a lot to simplify healing. Default position when nothing is going on would be in the melee pool.

    Rather than making Crimson Strike an ogcd, they could just reduce the recast timer of Crimson Cyclone (or both) to 1.5 s. I agree that the current implementation feels a bit clunky.

    I kinda don't mind the way it's implemented.
    I'm just confused why SMN even got it. Like it looks cool & it kinda feels satisfying but a mobility ability that you can only use in a less than 10 sec window that only makes u move forward?
    There's going to be almost no point in a fight where the mobility part will actually be useful.

    There's going to be almost no point in a fight where the mobility part will actually be useful.
    I used it just this week to negate a should-have-been-lethal knockback when doing P4N for the first time. It's a lot harder to get use out of a GCD gapcloser than an oGCD gapcloser, but it's still possible.
