Definitely, an Elpis ending with "You saved our world but have yet to save yours. Rest assured we will provide every help you need." would have just been amazing.
They don't have to care about that other timeline, just being in G'raha's shoes would have been cool.

I loved Elpis but holy moly Kairos threw so much into the garbage can.
I guess it was needed for developping Venat's story, which turned out awesome, and setting up later cutscenes.

"Being in G'raha's shoes" would mean creating a new timeline at the likely expense of never being able to return to our own.

Save the ancient world but doom the one we came from, never to return there with the information we learned.

And even if we could get back there because Elidibus's spell is strong enough to guide us back across timelines, creating a split still doesn't resolve the actual narrative purpose of us visiting Elpis. It's not just about us visiting the past but about the other characters knowing us in return.

If we only knew and successfully saved "another timeline's Emet and Hythlodaeus", the pair who come to our rescue in the finale would not have that memory of us.

As much as it is sad to know what happens to everyone there after we leave, it suits the overall scope of the story better because our actions there can carry into the rest of the story. The characters know us when we meet them again, give or take some magical amnesia.

There is a difference between G'raha and Elidibus ways of traveling through time.
G'raha transported the whole crystal tower with him, Elidibus created a portal and only sent the WoL's consciouness.
I don't think it was ever said that G'raha couldn't return if he had sufficent aether, only that his timeline could never be saved.

The point of visiting Elpis was to learn the existence of dynamis and Meteion.
It wouldn't have much impact, visiting Venat in the present she could've said "Oh, you visited the past, you know everything then. I know where meteion is, I've searched the space during all these years, here are the coordinates"

As for Emet&Hyth come back from the dead, I really liked it but it brought nothing. It was purely a fan service scene.
They could have removed the last step with Meteion saying "You're finally here but you're alone now", then the WoL summons its friend and Meteion be like "oh no, power of friendship my only weakness".

I really don't like to say it but a lot of the writing was sacrificed for the sake of fan service.

Who are the friends that you mentioned? The ones who sacrificed their bodies just for the sake of building a path for you or even giving the possibilty of reaching the Meteia hivemind? Did you forgot why Y'shtola even warns you not to summon them back? There was no guarantee that the Ultima Thule you step on won't be gone. Emotions had a lot of power at that part of reality.

As far as I know, G'raha doesn't even know they survived. That knowledge comes from an out of game story set on his old world.

If he doesn't know they survived, it stands to reason that he doesn't have any way back.
