Another thing that makes me wish for fantasias to be redeemable with the Achievement currency. Oh well.

im baby
meanwhile in WoW you can even change your character gender for free
maybe with 7.0 we'll see a big engine/customization upgrade
right?
right?
I've said before they should let us trade in achievement certificates for fantasia or the rare dyes you can get from the Mog Station. Or something. Because I sure have a lot of them and nothing to use them on.
I aim to make my posts engaging and entertaining, even when you might not agree with me. And failing that, I'll just be very, VERY wordy.Originally Posted by Packetdancer

I wish they did more with cheevo currency in general. Or at the very least they gave out free fantasias with each story capstone quest like they did at the end of ARR's MSQ.
So they bring up a relevant point of what another mmo does better and you jump to something completely irrelevant to game design decisions.
it's good feedback, more of a contribution to this thread than you made anyways.
Well in WoW race change is mostly used to change to other racial abilities that give advantage in pve or pvp, like there was a time when a raid had a lot of ‘beast’ classified bosses and high-end raiders changed to a race that had a passive %damage increase to beasts. Outside of that the service isn’t really used all that much in WoW, because frankly even tho there is transmog (glamour) most WoW players don’t even care what their character looks like under the tier armors or are zoomed out so far that they couldn’t make it out anyway.
A lot of people even play a race even tho they don’t like the looks but they want the racial abilities and there are ways to semi-permanently change your character model through consumables or toys in case of modern WoW.
So in WoW the high price is more of a deterrence to prevent hoping for gameplay advantage and keep it for someone who truly wants a new cosmetic look.
While FF14 is the complete opposite, glamour and looks are like one of the main points of the game, there are times when you just zoom in and drool over your character (I found myself doing it), so people will naturally change their character from time to time to get the most out of this and square wants to fully cash in on that.
But I agree, at least eye color should be changeable by ingame means either give it to the aesthetician or add ‘colored contact lenses’ items for Gil or any currency.
