PLD, WHM and BRD can Raise. WHM can Chainspell it. If you end up needing more raises than that, you deserve the wipe.
OR you can have your mates spend lots of seals on those potions from the GCs that revive.

No thanks.
If we're having to have classes mixed with jobs in our parties, something somewhere needs a fix.
I'll consider mixing classes with jobs to be training wheels for the transition at best. Never something expected to be done.
You can shun legitimate strategy if you like, I'll use whatever strat works.
It's against the design philosophy.
Of course you can use w/e you like. This is a case of "Don't hate the player, hate the game."
Regardless, with what we know already I can't think of a fight where I wouldn't rather use all jobs anyway.
The design philosophy of jobs being for full parties and classes for solo and light parties.
Also, switching from class to job is treated as switching classes, and cannot be done while engaged.
Actually, no. I can see some pretty valid reasons to still use a class even after jobs, and access to Raise as BLM is one of those reasons. In fact, access to more defense / healing abilities in general is one advantage of a class over every job that's not WHM and PLD, in case you want to play it safe for a certain battle.
Well, we'll see won't we.
To me, it just seems like a case of finding it difficult to let go of the safety blanket of being able to cross-class everything provides.
I for sure wouldn't ever give up AMs, Convert, and BLM AF just so I can equip Raise.
Like I said, if 4 raises in five minutes ain't enough, something's wrong with the party - and it isn't the number or raises lol.
Sometimes, things can go bad. Doesn't mean the party sucks, it means mistakes can happen. Maybe a party member disconected during the fight. Maybe Ifrit went on a sudden killing spree. Maybe King Moogle Mog the Twelfth got a lucky Pom Flare. And heck, sometimes the party *does* suck, but can still get back to it's feet with multiple raises.Well, we'll see won't we.

Not saying this will happen every time, not saying classes are better than jobs, not saying AF is not awesome, I'm just using an example where, yes, being in a class is better (IE: having more defensive / healing abilities).
