If you want to change race, that I could understand because people will wants to play on new race model.

But in response to your post - Why are people so quick to defend squares bad choices....
So many parts of the game are just behind the times - and people just throw out mindless crap like "engine is old" or some other crap.

other MMOs consistantly change or future proof their games - Square does not.
Everything from the character creator to the glam system in FF is not future proofed and goes unupdated... and people just defend squares decision to ignore these features.

they will not do better as long as you keep giving them a pass.

Because the game was built in less than 2 years as a scramble to try to mitigate the disaster that was 1.0, while also updating 1.0 to try to keep some players around so the relaunch would have any kind of population. They did have time to future proof, design an engine, or build the game in a forward looking way.

To fix most of the issues we currently have would require half a decade designing a new engine for the game, which would also need to be compatible with all of the current data, without any of its limitations.

This is why I give them a pass on some things.

for Some People this doesn't Matter because is (Male Midlander Race) or they Okay paying more money for small things but what if this gonna be Okay in the Future and go to other Races to Your race what you gonna have to Say About it?

or Eye Color i honestly Quite getting cosplay inside my FC cuz my MC is Red Eyes which never work most what i wanted to cosplay as.

Yeah... Although I am really happy with it, it is kinda annoying that my character can't shave without paying 50R$(My national currency in this case). But at the same time, I really like the stubble, I haven't been happier with how my character looks.

Stop making 1.0 Excuses, Aesthetician restriction was made By YoshiP (when he been asked why ppl can't change race in Aesthetician) in old live letter, his Answer was he doesn't want players change race everyday and this can making your character pointless or boring in the game, he want it us to stick to our choices, in that time i never got into FFXIV like now if i know there not Added Eye color change in Aesthetician for whatever reason make no sense if you tell that cuz of 1.0 limitation they couldn't add eye color change to Aesthetician ( i would laugh so hard , that i look at you and ask you "Are you Serious?" ) even if this built on old engine adding something simple like Eye color should be Easy.

Speaking as an RPer on the unofficial RP Data center and the second largest RP server, most RPers don't honestly seem too bothered by the Fantasia. The only complaints I've ever seen about this on the RP side is the Hrothgar issue with being unable to change their hairstyle without a fantasia and the lack of Viera hairstyles. The vast majority of complaints are all things that would require a complete engine overhaul, such as adding additional customization options to races, unlinking Au Ra horns from faces, availability of stubble on all male faces on all races, and similar such things. During an interview for the Media Tour of EW Yoshi was asked about the possibility of an engine upgrade, and he said he is aware that the players are really feeling the limitations of the system and that such an overhaul will likely happen to ensure the longevity of the game, but they have no active plans for it just yet. This is because such an undertaking will likely be done over a long period of time to prevent it from impacting the content of patches and future expansions. Because for every person that asks for such a thing, there is at least one other person not wanting content delayed to make room for such things as shown by the issues with WoW updating character customization. Half the player base wanted more while the other half was like 'what's the big deal?'
