Someone within this thread found the lnternet Explorer link which is used to open the launcher. It shows up as blocked by the government under some IT act of 2000 that they enforced 21 years later on a game of all things for some reason.

Hi, I have the same issue as well.
Though I can resolved using VPN, but would like this to be fixed.

I noticed that the URL used for version check, http://patch-bootver.ffxiv.com/http/...21-12-19-03-50, seemed to be displaying something not expected by the game client.
It displayed a iframe which has the message, "The website has been blocked as per order of Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology under IT Act, 2000."

Actually what i realise is that you just need to use vpn to get by launcher.

Personally, I used mobile hotspot to my computer (luckily there is wifi card) or just download tunnelbear (500gb is free).

Open and on the vpn, open launcher, turn off vpn. This is what i am doing in the meantime.
