The exact same thing could be said of the way in which the “complex!” crowd continuously attacked and belittled any and all fans of the rework. Acting as if they are entitled to my sympathy only ensures that they receive none of it. They helmed this ship for the past decade and catering to them drove the job into an iceberg. There comes a point when someone gives you so many wrong directions that you stop turning to them for advice on where to go. You're free to interpret my words however you want. I am not responsible for whatever version of myself lives inside their heads.
Besides it’s clearly a personal thing they have against me at this point, not that I mind because I find their posts hilarious and wonderful amusement while I wait for login queues to subside. You’d think that some of these individuals would have moved on from the job by now if they didn’t like it so much, yet I’ve spotted a certain green haired catboy (see below) hanging out in old Sharlayan all dressed up in the Rydia outfit as a max level Summoner on my server.
Regardless it does not change the fact that this cluster of “scorned” people have nothing but the same anecdotal evidence they claim is meaningless of their own at best. They forever removed legitimacy from their arguments whenever they went on their rants about how basically anything other than their enthusiastic forum posts is meaningless feedback to them, a belief that could only be possible if they somehow believed themselves more important than everyone else. "Honesty" has left the building entirely. There are improvements that can and should be made, but we do not need to go back to the previous state of things to do so.
Again, you want poisons and bio? Wait for Necromancer. You want to micromanage a tiny pet? Wait for limited job Puppetmaster to arrive. What Summoner could use now are primal themed ogcds and as others mentioned, seeing the Phoenix combo return would be lovely. You know, fits with the fact that we’re actually Summoners now. Furthermore every job could stand to get its later abilities earlier, Summoner included.
I’m not interested in giving an inch away after finally getting a proper Summoner added to this game, so if I have to put up with the occasional outburst from the other side, so be it. Being the target of their scorn is inconsequential because no matter how much they deny it, they are simply the faction with lesser numbers whose ideas and sentiments come from questionable places. If they want to view me as the evil villain, I accept the role gladly despite the fact that outside this echo chamber my stance isn’t much different to that of the general playerbase. Not that such esteemed personages would dare to interact with those who they view so lowly beneath them anyway.
