I do have a question, they did state during emergency mode everyone entering is weaker but does that also count for the person who activated the emergency mode aka Hermes?

Because if that was the case, he would be immune to its effects and would be kinda udnerstandable why.

Otherwise I agree, if everyone is powered down EQUALLY, then Emet Selch being to best mage the ancients had should have absolutely destroyed Hermes and that silly fight they had in the end while we were trying to escape was just unrealistic

Hermes was unaffected.

The emergency mode made everything weaker except for Elpis researchers (and other employees, or whatever the proper term is). The point of emergency mode was to reduce the power of everything that might harm the employees, letting the employees resolve the situation.

EDIT: Just checked the dialogue, and the term was "Ktisis scholars and observers". Which Hermes would have been considered part of, since he's in charge of all of Elpis.
