I think it's quite the opposite really. They chose the managarm model specifically because it's not normally used anywhere in the game as an enemy. It fit the bill for not having to make a new mob, sure, but it also was one that fit the bill for a creature that could have been unmade then, never to return like all the other creatures you see roaming around Elpis that are still around in some form in the present timeline.

Of course, if you want to believe that the text about it being assumed a myth or extinct yet you obviously having one as a mount means they came back in some sort of special way, that fits too I suppose. Then again, the English text also has some stupid reference to an infamous DMC line, so everything they write is whatever.

Because this is General Discussion, don't think people would jump to RP as a first-response when posting. You'll have better luck in the Lore forums for sure, where you said you posted.
