From what I've seen here there's been a mix.
a) Threads of people crying, throwing their toys out of the pram, demanding things, finding the whole thing unacceptable of the devs, in some cases insulting them, calling them liars, saying they should have got more servers, not accepting the reality of the situation and flooding the forum with lots of different threads airing their dissatisfaction. It's in these threads I also see people defending the devs and getting called "White Knights" for it, as one of those people defending them in said threads. It's not a blind defense and I know I myself have backed up my statements defending them that can easily be verified.
b) Threads of people providing legitimate and constructive criticism in a non-inflammatory manner. These I've seen have generally been better received. I know my own reaction to them has been "fair enough" or if I've disagreed I've tried to return the same respect.
Point 'A', honestly, I don't think is acceptable, especially from a grown adult. And I am inclined to say "hey, cut the devs some slack" (and it's the devs we're dealing with, not Square Enix as a whole)
Point 'B', I say is what we should expect of people. Not everybody will agree with all criticism, but if it's constructive then at least good discourse can come out of it. And this is what we tend to see come out of these forums on most issues even when it gets heated.
