All I did see is this people(call them whst you like) say there no reason to post as SE don't look here any way.n now show me all night the "fuck you square, go die in a fire, you can all suck my d***" " I must miss this 9ver the top parts.i've seen a lot of stuff, but no one telling people to stop posting stuff because "no one sees it", at least not from the crowd you could call "white knights". most people ask for things like a bit less "fuck you square, go die in a fire, you can all suck my d***" or for the same 5 people to stop making 10 threads a day, both of which should be fair to expect in the civilized world. theres a big difference between wanting people to not voice dissatisfaction at all and simply wanting them to stop screaming like a toddler.

It’s gonna hurt them, but it’s a calculated loss compared to the worst case scenario, I imagine. They wouldn’t have done this if other options seemed better/easier to weather.

They really aren't doing anything they wouldn't normally be doing though. Nothing is really being sped up. Pretty sure a lot of the server stuff were probably already on some sort of backorder based on how the previous announcements mentioned the lead time. They are basically just saying that they hope to have a roadmap for us at the end of January.I'm guessing this wasn't a decision they made lightly. The short term losses will, at least in my opinion, pale in comparison to the long term gains should they follow through on their plans in a timely fashion. But clearly time is of the essence if they are pulling server equipment from wherever they are getting it so quickly, though a few months wouldn't normally be considered quick by any means. Like I've said in another thread, they kinda had to do something.

All we could hope for really.
In my opinion they do care and try their best to fix this situation.
Soon™ we'll make it through...![]()

Yeah, presenting a road map doesn’t mean “new servers in a few months”, it usually means “we’re going to communicate a years long plan to you in January, so you can see our timetable.”They really aren't doing anything they wouldn't normally be doing though. Nothing is really being sped up. Pretty sure a lot of the server stuff were probably already on some sort of backorder based on how the previous announcements mentioned the lead time. They are basically just saying that they hope to have a roadmap for us at the end of January.

Counter-arguement: Suspending new sales basically until "congestion eases," knowing the only real solution is new hardware, is probably not something they'd be doing if they expected that new hardware to be years out.
I'll choose to be optimistic (for now) and believe they'll have something lined up hopefully by summer some time.
There's more players than the servers can handle. I think SE will be fine stopping sales for a bit. They got their core of sales for the time being anyways.
It took my job months to get two servers. I can't imagine the logistical nightmare to try and get 100's of them for a new logical center. They really aren't doing anything they wouldn't normally be doing though. Nothing is really being sped up. Pretty sure a lot of the server stuff were probably already on some sort of backorder based on how the previous announcements mentioned the lead time. They are basically just saying that they hope to have a roadmap for us at the end of January.
This is not going to be a quick fix. The additional data centers and servers will take several months to get set up and they have not even obtained them yet. If you're looking for an end to congestion during Endwalker you may not see it (although you will see less eventually, those that only play for MSQ leave and move on) but basically this is the dev's setting up for the next expansion in two years. Hopefully it will be enough!
What we suffer is "the curse of knowledge". For new people, most of the dungeons after level 24 is considered "intense". For us, we just don't understand why newbies do not "get the mechanic" when everything is spelled out for you right in front of your screen... For them Brayflox is HARD ("you want me to Esuna all of you? move out of the way? and cure three people???), Sunken Temple is "ZOMG WTF was that", Cutter's Cry was "intense" and Titan "baby trial" was "fck this, I swear I ran and out of the train track from hell".

Well I guess this is where the "billion dollar company" thing comes in. :P
Seriously though, people took the global chip shortage way too lightly. I remember them talking about infrastructure upgrades during the 14 hour stream back in July, and I imagine they were dealing with the logistical nightmare back then even. So it isn't like they just started; they have been trying for months already, and it is still taking months more. Honestly, the total amount of time it will take them (counting from when they first attempted to order new servers) may honestly be over a year.
