Can we have a quest to obtain an Archon mark?

If I remember correctly, Alphinaud is simply waiting for his. He did presented his thesis already (that cause quite an uproar in the studium), but he left for Eorzea before they presented him the result. And the first time he came back isn't really a good time for something as frivolous as that. Wouldn't surprise he's officially graduated sometime this expack though.

I suspect that in order to get your Archon title you will have to spend, oh, four years in Old Sharlayan at the Studium, pursuing a degree. You could be Warrior of Light by day, student by night. You'll start your quest in patch 6.5 and finish it up when the 9.0 expansion comes out.

Hey, now. Time does pass; they talk about how you should go take a break (at the end of an MSQ chapter). Mind you, we have no idea if it's been like... two years since the Praetorium, or six months. Just that time has passed in some manner.

(If everything from ARR onwards has happened in like six months, though, my WoL really needs a vacation.)

More seriously, I love the fact that we get actual times for things in the First -- how long since each of the Scions had arrived there -- and mention that time moved faster there than in the Source... but zero reference as to how much time actually passed in the Source, save for "less than in the First".

Hey, there's a Studium thesis for you: "The Effect of Heroism on Perception of Linear Time". (Though it might just consist of the WoL just scrawling "HELP I CAN KILL GODS BUT I DON'T KNOW WHAT YEAR IT IS ANYMORE" across a piece of paper and turning that in.)

I know I know it'd be messy timeline wise effectively having to have a character write a thesis and all, and there might be annoying story implications later... But especially for mage characters we barely ever get a chance to flex our intellect!

The archon mark is the mark or scholarly achievement. This is why Alisaie, Lyse, and Alphinaud don't have one. Saving the universe doesn't mean we're the smartest peanut out there.

But Lyse had it when she was Yda, so there's already precedent for faking it! We don't even need to be smart!

Yes but her mark was tied to Papalymo and when he died the mark disappeared. Was it really her mark?
