Maybe the afkers are the problem also maybe it's people playing for 15 hours a days. Personally I don't care what people do in their free time. I was just spitballing. And you in kind likened it to China and got all hot and bothered about it. You did bring up a good point though about people all logging in at the same time that I didn't think of. But what would you do to fix it?

Ah yes, screw an entire region out of a dedicated Datacenter, to give your region new servers that wont fix your congestion issues.

You want to fix copngestion across the board? New Datacenter in a new region.
There was a large enough population of oceanic players to justify an entire datacenter just for us.

People wont transfer to reduce congestion on heavily populated servers, as proven by the very situation you find yourself in.
What WILL get a chunk of the population to up and move away? A Datacenter in their own region and the gameplay benefits that come from that, including but not limited to being on a server whose denizens are roughly on the same timezone as yourself.

Opening that datacenter is the best thing they could do in this situation.

It's not. Since they are afk during off-peak hours as well. The problem is everyone logging in en masse during peak hours.

It wouldn't be totally equal as the 9 to 5vers would get shafted more, but at least they might have a shot at playing.

Currently it's impossible for me. By the time I get home and try to login the queues take so long I'm leaving them to go to sleep. And while I could afk bot or use remote desktop to login I'm the kind of person who would forget both away. I tend to come home and unwind playing games. Lately it's been watching movies while I wait for the impossible and give up.

But maybe I'm wrong, but it feels awful paying for something and not being able to use it. And the internet would ironically call you entitled. Which of course you are lol. You're paying for a service that entitles you to play a game. It's like the only time you can be legitimately entitled in an argument lol. Anyway people are stupid and think their unending support for some nebulous corporation is gonna pay off because they spend their days nights being passively aggressive to annoyed paying customers who have literally every right to complain. But again people are stupid.

But if it makes you feel better I don't have power so I couldn't play anyway. I haven't had it in 3 days and all my food is spoiled and at the end of my bitching to the power company I might get lucky and get a bill credit and a food credit. Let's hope because this crap was already annoying, but going on 3 days without power is worse. Thank god for power banks and your own office/car to charge them in.

What I'm saying is some of these keyboard warriors need a dose of reality. I'm posting because I'm bored and awake before work, but I can tell you honestly I don't care about queue times anymore.
Dunno about an 8 hour restriction. In a democratic sense, where we would need a lot of people to be agreeable on measures, I kinda feel there would be too much people that might tell you 8 hours is not enough? But I don't know. Personally, I would be fine even with 4 hours if there are no queues. However, even a limit of 16 hours would likely improve the situation. A total out of the blue estimate would be that a 16 hours limit would improve queues by roughly 10-40%. An 8 hours limit would improve them by 20-80% and 4 hour limit 40-100%. So depending on the time slots, queues would either get more bearable or vanish completely.

Agreed, so what is your solution?

I'm not trying to be rude I'm just curious how you would fix the issue. Outside of using 3rd party software to get it done. Because the average player is going to try to login and not be able to. And a lot of them and I mean a lot of them aren't going to jump through hoops to play something that they paid for.

Yeah the 8 hours thing was off the top of my head, but damn nice math!

Try using both Teamviewer and Remote play on your PC. You will have to turn on both laptop or PC and Playstation though. I dont have PS. Dont know much about remote play.

Connectivity should be something like this.

    Code:
Teamviewer on your laptop/office PC or phone or tablet > PC > Playstation.
Windows Remote Desktop is more complicated. It will need some additional stuff and settings.

I mean still 2002 persists. Do you expect me to sit during dinner with share play enabled on my phone to push a button every some-minutes? Doesn't this sound wrong?
I suggested something that may help people queue early. Whether you want to do it or not, its up to you. The queue still depends on FF14 stability of the connection as well.

    Teamviewer demo from my phone.

I know that feel, I work from 9 AM to 6 PM so when I get home i get the 7k queue. Thats like 3 to 5 hours of waiting (thank myself i bought SMTV) but when i get in its like 11 PM and I get to play 2 hours before my eyes begin to close by itself due to being tired or simply cause circadian cycle tells me its time to sleep soooo hoping this gets better haha

Im not whinning tho I'm REALLY enjoying the game and I expected this situation cause its not my first mmo and the massive attention the game got with the streamers thing, critical aclaimed meme and EdW marketing plus hardware sortage. Its just a bit saddening watching my friends with more time on their hands playing and enjoying nonstop while i'm chained by responsabilities and unable to get in whenever i get the free time, also I suffered the dinning fast in front of tv or not being able to take a bath while the queue is on cause the 2002 error :_

At least I'm enjoying SMTV, going to finish it while waiting the queue lmao

There is no easy solution. Even if SE were to solve 2002, the real issue still is the thousands upon thousands of players trying to log in at the same time - hours in queue. The only thing to do is wait, or somehow convince everyone to spread out their play schedules (log-in time). It will be like this for a good while yet; until everyone stops logging in at the same time. Many will sooner than later start filing out after doing what they wanted in Endwalker as well. Draconian measures will only add to the frustration of players.
