SE is a business, it's obvious that they monitor how their competitors are making their money and will adapt accordingly. So it's not so much SE and FF14 getting worse but the entire gaming industry getting worse and SE going along with it.

That doesn’t really excuse them though. If anything that makes them worse for that lol. Our money is just going down the drain and we’re just not gonna ever see improvements from past expansions
Who cares if a few things were re-used here and there. You're acting like it's the end of the world. If anything is ridiculous, it's you.
I don't mind the reused assets too much- I just wish if they are going down this path we got some of the sets changed so they could be used with different jobs.
SB had 4 unique sets for release dungeons, including the cap ones. ShB had 3 unique sets for leveling. EW has 2 unique sets. Disappointing.

It is kind of sad to see the amount of things in the game steadily reduce every year, despite Shadowbringers and Endwalker making the game more popular than ever. Most MMOs have a slow decline like this, but most of them are also slowly losing players over 10 years, not gaining them like FFXIV is. We get less new equipment models, less new jobs, less dungeons, less job quests, less seasonal events, and less side content (i.e. combining Deep Dungeon and Eureka into Save The Queen areas) all while the rest of the game adheres strictly to the formula established with the first expansion - six new areas, three new trials, eight dungeons on expansion launch, full party and alliance raids alternating every major update, etc. Basically everything is either the same or less, never more than before.
All that said, when it comes to Endwalker specifically, a global pandemic that's killed tons of people and forced everyone to find new ways to work remotely or otherwise safer can't have its impact just completely ignored. The delays are totally expected, and it's also not surprising that they would have to make some compromises to still get the expansion out this year. I can only hope that they find ways to make up for it in the coming major patches and possibly the next expansion, rather than continuing the slow decline in content.

I generally do not mind recolors but was so sad when I saw the Ktisis gear wasn't dyeable. If this is supposed to wrap up the zodiark story...why not make the ascian set dyeable? They're not likely going to be major players in future stories to warrant a 3rd rerun ;-;
It wasn't a few things. It was every crafted gear set except one. It was every dungeon set except two and we got one less dungeon set this expansion to boot. This is the third time that Shire gear has been used and it wasn't even role swapped. If they reused gear and role swapped it (as they did a few times in Stormblood) that would be one thing, but this is just giving us the same exact thing, some of it not even being that old.
Anybody raising an issue with this is acting like it's the end of the world? What kind of copium are you smoking?
I’d be willing to give them the benefit of the doubt due to covid but the fact is content was missing long before covid existed. Before they delayed the expansion they stated they were working at 90-95% efficiency. Then they delayed 6-7 months. There is really no reason for this at this point and we can’t keep using covid as an excuse for their mistakes and laziness. At what point do we stop?It is kind of sad to see the amount of things in the game steadily reduce every year, despite Shadowbringers and Endwalker making the game more popular than ever. Ye the reused gear is on a new lvl of bad. All of the lvl up gear from quests and MB (crafted) is reused as well.in the past we at last got 1 new set. Dungeons that don't even drop any gear set are trash. I really don't get this part ,get more people for doing gear sets is not hard.
