    This claim by Square Enix goes all the way back to 2014 and is an issue on their end. The only way to truly solve the issue appear to have VPN as close as possible to their servers to prevent any packet loss during the login process. I do not understand why Square Enix did not expect some very smart people to look at this error when they claim it is user error.

    It has NOTHING to do with COVID as it an issue that goes back 7 years. It is how they choose to handle traffic to their servers and how this client is built.
    If you can solve the issue with a vpn... doesn't that confirm it's an issue with packet loss on the user end?

    So the core issue is the single attempt before tanking the client. Requiring a complete restart of the client is causing users to rage at being forced to literally stare at a queue (my own personal experience btw of sitting in a queue of 4k+ just to have to crash at 628 when I opened a Youtube tab then quickly logging back in to get my spot).

    If people could feel confident walking away I think that would solve a large amount of issues. It is already saving your spot so why not just keep the client open and try a reconnect from there instead of requiring a fresh login and reconnect praying you can even make it that far.
