I don't think the game's direction is sustainable anymore (ending spoilers)

We've already got the fact that the universe will eventually become an endless frozen winter and Metieon mentioning she was "hastening that process", which even if we halted it this time still means it's possible. Knowing SE writers, they'd probably attribute the phenomenon of expansion to some sort of entity we can fight (Unless I'm missing something, I'm not a lore expert?) But if so, there's still room for something with high stakes.

The heat death of the universe is not something that will happen anytime soon. It's more like a billion years until then. I don't think SE will cover such a long time span.

Ye SE shoot to far on this one. Any thing from here is filler like. It's the dragon ball problem they got from just a strong army and evil people to a god. Then to an intergalactic emperor to and evil gods fear. Then to even stronger gods? They can't make an even stronger thing work logically.thry will need to make the WoL lose some of it's power some how and this will fill cheap.

They are elves. In ff14 they take a loooooot longer to grow up than other races. They could stay looking like teens for another 10 years and be fine.

FFXIV doesn't operate on traditional fantasy logic (IIRC all races have weirdly long life spans but that's offset by people dying by other causes in droves) and Urianger himself says he started to grow at twenty.

The game ended with a pretty big cliff hanger and with a story this crazy from ARR to now I really don't see any need to worry. Because of the amount of potential it left off on...im kind of happy about it. /shrug

cliffhanger? what cliffhanger? this is the most resolved anything has even been in ff14 story wise, I'm looking forward to see what they're doing next but there's pretty much no ongoing storylines with the MSQ right now.

I'm hoping we get to travel to the other shards or reflections if you prefer. There would be enough material for an expansion with each shard.

I also think we will see Mr. Juicy butt pop up again in the future. His story feels incomplete.

Well, there was that little bit of a teaser for the Pandemonium raids after the credits... But that's as close to a cliffhanger as it got, and the first raids are coming in 6.01...
