The fact is the fact. I shouldn't have to wait 2 hours to play the game I paid for, It's not ok.

I just got booted and have to wait through 900 people at 1 am.. that sucks. People defending a multi-million dollar companies lack of foresight is pretty flawed. whatever, i'm still around, it's just stupidly frustrating.

Yes, every company should have foresight for a worldwide pandemic, the competitor crapping the bag, and hardware shortages all hitting at once.
Which company sold a car that they couldn't make? People need to stop with these bad comparisons. If Squarenix could not upgrade their servers to guarantee accessability they should have limited the Endwalker units they sold.

I'm glad they didn't prevent anyone from buying the game. I play during off-peak hours and not being able to buy the expansion would have ruined my fun without improving peak-hour queues at all. Savage raiders are complaining about queues and disconnects but arbitrarily banning them from the game would be far worse for teams.

Yeah no, that would probably go worse than now. People would then complain about not being able to buy the game. At least right now, time will eventually let the login servers become more stable as less and less people play as the new expansion hype lapses. It would probably even take longer for people to be able to play.

It’s not really a bad comparison cause it wasn’t a comparison? It’s a statement of fact.
But fyi both Toyota and Chevy had problems with people preordering cars that wouldn’t be made until months later, not sure about other companies.
I’m frustrated too, but I’m trying to stay grounded in reality.
And you know for a fact that if they limited EW presale, people would’ve collectively lost their minds anyways. The team was between a rock and a hard place, some of it from technical debt they could’ve addressed years ago, some of it from factors beyond their control (supply chain issues, wow imploding).

I feel like they need to make and hand out one code per active subscriber that will give a month of free subscription to activate and use at a time of our choosing. I'm not angry about any of this at all, but since all of my characters are on one server (balmung) I've not been able to play the game since December 2nd. I can't even make it more than three digits in the queue before being kicked out and losing my places. This 7 days free sub time has been useless to me because I can't even play the game.
It's starting to feel like the only choice is to cancel my subscription for now and come back in a few months, though I don't want to do that unless absolutely necessary.

Like, in my personal opinion, they are going to have to give players more free time and/or something extra to make up for what’s happened, not because it’s their fault, but because it’s the right thing to do.
But I’m also not going to lambast a dev team that is probably in full panic mode trying to make this work with what few resources they actually have left.
