Yup, my 300mb/s internet that never disconnected me from the game ever before is really to blame...I'm not even using WIFI. And, the only thing on that internet is my gaming stuff. Which, is literally the one system active at a time. Only ever get the 2002 error when sitting in the queue, and only around the 4000 mark. I think I've gotten the error twice below 4000, and that was around the 1000 mark. But not often at all.

And that why you never got 2002, now try to log when the queue is at 4-5k before saying that you have no issue cause you have good conection... You have no issue cause you don't try to log when server are overloaded!

I went on watching videos and play other games. I managed to get ingame after a few hours. I have no data on why I don't get 2002s anymore. Maybe the server hardware is better? It could be great internet between me and Tonberry as well. I'm running on 1Gbps line.

I have used two different internet connections, and get 2002 errors at roughly the same time intervals on both. Its not my internet connection, unless you're going to tell me that AT&T's home service and Verizon's cell towers both blip out with the same regularity.

Someone on the forums took notice that the 2002 occured at 30 minute intervals, which seemed to tie in the auto disconnect feature. I noticed this myself, 2002 right on the dot at 30 minutes unless I used my controller to press a button (apparently doesn't work with the mouse). I also have good stable internet. So no, it's not on our end and we don't need to "fix" our internet for only this game. However, it doesn't hurt to call your provider to have them do a quality check on the wires.

Edit: "I live in New Zealand and I am on the Japan datacenter." which is most likely reason why you were not having the same problems we are. We are playing on the US/EU data centers and the I bet the quality of hardware and service is piss poor in comparison to the JP center.

Got better to but still not perfect in Aether datacenter did not had 2002 in the last 2 day but restarted this evening but server are more overloaded too. I expected why I logged out earlier I would not be able to log back without babysiting the queue and that is the case. I will have to wait tomorrow to finish the msq

Funny how I played on the Booty grabbers game and no issues at all. Started playing FFXIV and still no issues at all. Been playing for a little over 7 months now and still no issues. But as soon as Early access hits for Endwalkers my internet is shit. And it only seems to be shit when trying to log in to FFXIV and all the 'error 2002' shit.

So no, it definitely is not my internet. Please try again with a better recommendation.

Some ISPs comes with terrible routing. Connection has too many hops and may have bottleneck somewhere before it reaches the server. One of my old ISP hops all over my country before it goes international.

Get TCPview from Microsoft and use it check the IP address of the connection. Run Command Prompt with Administrator and use this command

tracert "IP address"

Example:
tracert 123.456.789.012

Try some VPN and do it again. Some game focused VPN may improve it.

I dont experience issues with my internet, but I have had a few (not many) 2002. If some minor imperceptible issues causes the whole thing to die in a fire of glory then I think they should make their login queue more robust, as no such issue in waiting for anything ever on my systems has been like this.

The queue is extremely sensitive feeling, imo. Coming from someone who has only had a few issues, still seems unnessciarly easy to break everything. Given you could play hours and hours and hours and not a single issue as it holds strong, even sometimes hitting R0 and rescuing itself, but if you lightly breathe too hard at the queue it'll error 2002?

Maybe there is some issue with some ISP or whatever, but imo.. this still seems like a SE issue in the end. Even if the ISP isn't helping the matter. (may read as angry, I'm not, but I also don't think this is not SE's problem- especially if they're suggesting that this issue is going to persist for quite some time).
