**SPOILERS** Did anyone else find this new zone to be a complete slog? **SPOILERS**

This zone might be my most favorite thing to happen to me in the game yet. It is a fan fiction writers dream to participate in that stuff, with those characters.

Its almost cliche to say this anymore, but its true. This is an RPGMMO. Story above all else. If thats not what you are here for, maybe it isnt the right game for you?

Elpis was a wonderful zone . We got to see Ascians in the original form before the crisis before the agony that turned them into the monsters the few that survived became . Most you encounter there are kind and positive, some even a little ditzy .

I did all the side quests in that zone ( the only one i did that in) The side quest in which you help with the creation of creatures was great fun . I will only spoil one . We/us the WoL, are the reason that the large toads are that annoying because we gave the Ascian that came up with the creation the idea to make it yank its enemies from a distance. There are plenty more quests in that vein . I was happy to quest for hours in Elpis.

For me it wasn't Elpis, but the last zone. Definitely almost wanted to skip most quests until I got to the end.. the pacing is awful. Still, this expansion is far better than ShB in my opinion.

Labyrinthos in the beginning was a chore, after that the game just kept picking up, Elpis was the one zone I simply didn't feel like skipping, it was a really important piece of the lore to me.

It also served as an arc to explain how the whole hermes/meteion thing came about. You gotta set up the stage first, and this is what Elpis was.
I loved it, and if I could have more story there, I would love to have it. I even did all the side quests just to hang out with ancients.

I really love Elpis... due to the exposition and all. It is slow, but I felt it was needed after the previous events.

I felt bothered at the pacing at first because I was REALLY tired, playing 6h nonstop beforehand... But I realized soon that these kind of zones are the best played when you're fully rested, and so did I... after I came back to it the next day, my perception changed a lot and I could sink more into the story given.

Exactly! Meteion is a brand new element that is super important from that point onwards, and she would feel super cheap at the end if she didn't have so much time devoted to her build up in Elpis.

Shame, because elpis drops one of the most important lore drops.
Personally I find garlemand to be the worst

I'll be honest, a lot of the story had too much foreshadowing that it left little enjoyment for me. There was never really a sense of wonderment to the revolutions that they tried to do because the majority of them had already been foreshadowed.

"They've been kidnapping the Elephant people. Let's have the lead Alchemist, an Elephant, get near to the tower."
"A Memory Alteration device? You better not use that on us".
"One race was conquered, one race was too smart, etc."

If it had happened once or twice in the story it would've been fine but every zone had these hints of foreshadowing that pretty much spelt out the story for you if you put the 5 seconds it took to piece it together, and with how poor the pacing was, it's not like you didn't have time to do so.

Was there good moments? Yes. SB also had good moments but is still panned for being lackluster too and that's how I viewed EW, lackluster.

I enjoyed Elpis, Got to see my best Frenemy again so, 10/10 would blame emet for my robes again.
