Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

I have been viera ever since shadowbringer early access got released and I'm very dissappointed rn. They mentioned viera females get their own new race hairstyles before endwalker was suppose to be released yet here we are 2 years later and they give us shitty hair ones that isn't even racial like they said it would be :/ Atleast give Gyr Abanian plait while their at it, I haven't used that hair for 2 years now and I remember how pricey it was when I first got it. I only got 2B hair one, since its the only hair that doesn't look crap on my viera and got very sick and tired of using same ones. I'm so tired of waiting for viera improvements that I feel like going back to midlander soon. If they lack ideas for viera racial hairstyles then they could make design contest, when it came to endwalker I was hoping for new viera hair that isn't old crappy ones they choosed that doesn't even suit overall viera race....

Yeah, read the above post and was about to say this.

Like, yall realize that all the "Whhhhy are all the new styles sooo shoort!?!?" is because of that contest where players voted on these short, boring styles ... right? We've been stuck in this rut for over 5yrs because of that contest, and regardless of how many people say they want long, pretty hair, there's clearly a lot who hate clipping and vote for the short options (or good artist who draw short hair that gets people's attention more). More hair design contest is not needed.
They're still using the last contest for hairstyles (moved on from the winners to just the entries that didn't win it seems) and given the rate at which they make new hair (+ how often it comes from the contest) we have a good idea of what to expect for the next 4-5 years for the most part.

I‘m just disappointed with the amount and the ones they choose for male viera as extra hairstyles. i think there would have been far more popular options… the karen one looks so bad. i also rarely see one using „scanning for style“. just looks bad on most male characters imo.
hairstyles like „saintly style, styled for hyred, great lengths“ are way more popular and would fit them better…

might be the ones they choose are just more popular in japan? ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

I think the 9s is just terrible. I dont get why that one was prioritized. It looks so bad. The Karen one actually looks nice, but since my character is often blond I am a bit weary of using it. The 2B looks ok, but has that weird clipping on the sides going on. The ponytail is the worst and honesly what surprised me about that specific hairstyle is that I saw an npc using it and is was places alot lower on the npcs head and it looked fine. It think the issue with that one is that viera ears are so far from their heads that to cover the void between, the hairs have to be pulled up pretty high which ends up giving a really big forehead on vieras.

Let us hope 6.1 bring some good hairs for both races.

If they're not going to fix whatever about female Viera's heads makes it hard to add the modern aesthetics, then I wish they would focus on developing Viera and Hrothgar exclusive hairstyles like they said they were two years ago to bring the two races up to parity with everyone else in customization choices, instead of releasing new hairstyles for everyone else who have a huge amount to choose from already.

Personally, I only like one of the new options, and as most people say the Karen hair is such a weird choice if they were prioritizing it based off requests because I've never seen or heard anyone say they want Karen hair but I think that had more to do with the fact it was easy.
