Anyone else feeling disappointed by Endwalker MSQ? MAJOR MSQ SPOILERS!

I do so far,at the moon bunny's.
The story started ok but as if we are not after 4.5 but before 4.4 but then was ok if fillery. Why at this point we do small chores and act like an adventurer I don't get. Then the second map was nice,the story there work and the dungeon was good. But then the war where we don't kill any one is pure retarded. You don't want to kill don't do a war.

The Eorzean Alliance wants to make peace with Garlemald, and just going in there and slaughtering all of the tempered regardless of whether they were beyond saving or not wouldn't have done much to dispel their preconception of us being savages.

They wanted to make a case for themselves by saving as many as within reason.

got 2 issue with endwalker story

1 : as some said before zodiarch feel like wasted potential, can really see that along the way they got new/better idea so they kidna ditched away zodiarch a bit sad, because that could have been something really great

2 : hydaelin, same here, really feel like the way they handled her was an absolute waste, instead of making her die, they should have made that the warrior of light (us) recover her soul or crystal, and she rest within him so she could witness that we go to the end succesfully (would at the same time improve our status of hero, "hero + actual vessel of the soul of hydaelin !!") this could have open way more idea for futur expansion !

in the same act about hydaelin, really REALLY dislike reaction from everyone (alphinaud, thancred, y'shotla, etc etc etc) hydaelin has been watching and protecting the world for who knows how long (at the very least minimum of 12.000 years !)
her showing that she clearly cared for all of em, telling story about them growing up n stuff, like she actually watched em !
and while she is dying they are like
"hmm ok cool bro, anyone want a sandwich im hungry ? no ? yeah right lets go back home we done here !"
i was like "wtf she was like a god/mother to you all humankind !" show some more feelings !

Overall I still liked the conclusion of this long arc. There are points though that took me out of it again and again, including some of those escort and stealth quests...
I am also not a fan that this had to be with such a huge scale...we defeated the Endsinger, what could possible come afterwards, especially now with our knowledge about Dynamis? I wish they stuck to the planet and moon...

Also the whole despair and wanting to die parts. Towards the end I was honestly a bit over it. Yes there will be stars where the people bascially killed themselves through war and other stuff, or where they will be taken out by sickness. But to present it like it will happen to every single planet that has life on it? The theme especially rangs a bit hollow for me when they do hint that the birds brought this despair upon quite a few stars. So how many of those planets really even had a chance? How many really truly wished for oblivion? Did the birds talk to everyone or just a few?

It was just too much but I guess also very Final Fantasy. Just we still have years to go in this game. Unlike other titles it does not stop there. Will they really just stick with small stories from now? Or will they still go out of their way to make another huge final again...

well, we got hinted many time that many of those planet/civilisation, died because of a huge war with some "machine"
its even the reason why midgrasmor fled he original planet !
so my guess for futur will be that this war with those "machine" will come one way or another to aetherys

We already dealt with that machine. And Graha even says that maybe the survivor machines went into another direction and away from violence.

I enjoyed Endwalker. I felt it was a beautiful Swan song to the story that has been developing for over 10 years.

I felt the writers did a good job tieing up a lot of loose ends, and as many characters as they could reasonably squeeze in all got their moment.

It wasn't perfect, as always there were pacing issues, and a few parts that I wasn't too fond of. Not every thread hit off well with me, namely the second entry into labyrinthos. I found that to be frustrating and absoutly maddening. It was clearly filler, and one quest in particular near the end had no reason to be as drawn out as it was.

Wasn't too fond of the stealth missions, and I've never really enjoyed the RPing as Scions, but it isn't bad.

Zenos and Fandaniel were not my fave, and to be honest once Fandaniel was out of the way I was much happier. I found his endless ranting tiresome. Zenos just sort of felt like he was there..wandering around with nothing to do. It was almost cartoonish?

"I'll get you next time Gadget, next time!" before he flies off in his Mad-Chopper.

He didn't really DO anything, and the one chance they had to REALLY make him a threat, they copped out and just sort of ended it before it took off....then never mentioned it again.

So yeah

some elements were disapointing, it was very slow to build, really dark and exciting near the middle, and as we got to the end I was left contemplating a great many things. I loved how they put Emmet-Selch into a new light, as his motivations and giving us a look into an actual day in the life of an ancient...it was just...awesome.

Had my complaints, but the writing was good, and the content was fun.

Maybe some of the dialogue could be shortened. It's tiresome when NPC's blather on, and that we have to wait for the to slog through a few emotes before dialogue continues has been an issue as long as the game is old. It's frustrating during side quests, which I admit to skipping most side quest dialogue, when you're MADDLY clicking through 6 of 7 dialogue boxes, each with a 10 second pause inbetween as the NPC has to /think or /gesture or /panic.

but that's not an issue with Endwalker as it is with the game as a whole.

As I was playing through it I was enjoying it, but it started losing me a bit in the last zone. Thancred's gone but his soul is still floating around? Shame Hydaelyn didn't just give us something that could help with that, with Y'shtola all but affirming it. And as I'm thinking back on it and reading other's thoughts the expansion overall is slowly going from great to okay for me. I think they just got too ambitious and tried to do too much since they were wrapping up the biggest storyline in the game.

I thought it was great. If they got rid of all of Zenos' scenes it could have been near perfect.
