**SPOILERS** Did anyone else find this new zone to be a complete slog? **SPOILERS**

I quite enjoyed the zone. I was afraid that in "bringing back" certain characters, they would end up devaluing the decisions made in ShB but the way they did it really just gave even more life to them. If they had done Elpis any different I don't think the impact would have been the same. The characters would not have felt as fleshed out and the villain(s) that came to the fore would have felt like a complete butt pull.

Now, will I go back there all the time? Probably not outside of the usual reasons I go back to any old zones.. but that's hardly unusual. I do worry that it will be hard them to actual constructively use Elpis in the future for future content given that it's literally locked in time but beyond that I don't have any issues.

I do feel that a lot of the pacing issues that people are describing are likely the result of A.) the story in general feeling propulsive while the content isn't always a match and B.) people just feeling they need to rush through everything to get to the end as fast as possible.

Elpis is my favourite place it answered so many questions for me and I love the design. I could quite happily die and go there lol

It's like watching Star Wars: A New Hope and in the middle of the attack on the Death Star they just cut to the first 30 minutes of The Phantom Menace. Sure, it is relevant to how we got to that point in the story, but couldn't we tell this on it's own when it isn't detracting from the pacing of the adventure we are currently on?

I always found the Star Wars movies vastly overrated to be honest. A New Hope had a lot of cliches and the characters could often be caricatures (Obi Wan was the wise old wizard overused to death in fantasy stories). Which just demonstrates that people like different things, it's not objective good or bad.

Elpis is actually one of my favourite zones of the whole expansion. I love the rounding out it gave certain characters. It was a lovely tale and it is when I started to love this expansion.

The only problem i had with Elpis was that it was stretched with too many fetchquests surrounding a specific birbgirl we didn't know so it felt like a forced character development zone for the mainvillain we just learned to know in that said zone.

So the problem that i have was actually that they didn't stretched this specific ark out but cramped it all into this one zone which in my case lead me to not feel a thing for said birbgirl.

Was cool though to see the old crew! And being able to do the dungeon with them is just, made me feel happier than at the ending of the msq. xD

I adore this game. I have been playing since launch since 2013. It is interesting the go-to label is "hater" for someone saying they dislike something in this game. I am just automatically supposed to adore everything that is presented, sing its praises and fall over? I don't like the zone. Plain and simple. The pacing of the story has been fast and furious and this zone completely derails it. I am allowed to offer criticism and that I don't like someone than being labeled as someone who blindly hates something. That is such a limited and poor view of something, are you like that in real life? No one can disagree with you on anything?

I disagree that they did. Anyway in a plot driven story events are the focus of the story and the action is usually derived from things that happen, in a character driven story how people arrive at certain decisions and choices are the focus and the decisions they finally make shape events. Elpis was very important in this regard.

As I said in another thread I feel that Endwalker is a beautiful character drama and because of this some people won't like it as much as Shadowbringers. It focuses more on the characters than the events taking place imo.
