I ask again. Why hasn't it been done yet?

Ask them that, unskilled enough? Did not think ahead, even though they knew the problem. Whatever reason they have, if it could have been done. They should have did it when they saw this same very issue happen in months ago. When they told us they have solutions to the problem. Most of us thought it was making the queue system better that was common sense. So until they tell us why the queue system does what it does and why they did not change it. I will keep calling them out.

You all need to take a long look into the introspective mirror, because the only trolls I see around are the ones that keep insulting players that are expressing their valid complaints calling them whiny, babies, karens, etc.

Right now, I'm hunting for Core i9-12900K. Could not find it on sale. DDR5 prices are high (and it uses crappy chips) due to shortage. I think Intel is feeling the heat as well.

Motherboard prices are getting even more expensive.

Don't bother with DDR5, not worth the cost at this time and likely for the near future. Some games and software show a performance regression over DDR4. Most are only equal, some have a teensie bit better performance. Frequencies are higher, latency is looonger. Bandwidth is about the same as DDR4. Also that i9 is a power hungry beast that's not the best pick for gaming (but still seriously awesome), assuming that's all you are doing with it. AFIAK the i7 performs much the same in most tasks, is cheaper, and a LOT cooler.

A lack of supply and chip shortages the entire world over doesn't directly affect OP because they already have everything they need, so they just can't understand why a company with money can't just buy more equipment.

You ever stop to think that if they could, they would? Shortages are affecting everything right now. On top of that, the game saw a massive, unexpected population spike back in June/July towards the end of its most recent expansion's life.

The reason why it hadn't been done before? The overall active population of the game probably did not merit urgency from Square-Enix despite Naoki Yoshida and his team begging them for the resources--it's well documented that Square-Enix still considered CBUIII the "B-Team" for Square-Enix even though FFXIV was finding huge success and wouldn't fund more than just content for the game. By the time the game's popularity skyrocketed, it was too late to act--the pandemic effected shutdowns, which then effected manufacturing of semiconductors, which is critical for the production of the microchips that go into every electronic device we use.

These aren't memes that we are just mindlessly spouting off. These are very real issues and it is not our fault if you're choosing to not believe a single thing that's being told to you.

I know. I'm planning to get Core i9-12900K and Asus ROG Strix Z690-A D4. I have Samsung B-die. I can overclock it to 4000mhz and above. I've considered getting i7-12700K. Decided with i9 because of the work and my cooler can handle it. My PC will be a space heater though.

Patiently waiting for the CPU. Can't do much about the shortage.

That means its something that will go away. Why go buy a hella lot of parts for something that will go away pretty soon and then not have that money ready for making more content when you cry about having nothing to do?

Oh and remember when everyone demanded ISHGARD HOUSING?

Well making 24 wards of ishgard or 95,040 houses (66 servers, 24 wards, 60 houses per ward) uses resources too. O thats right you forgot you demanded for this instead of buttery smooth queues or microadjustments to how people queue or more server capacity for the 500 year flood. inb4 you say "but I pay a sub and yoshi should be nostrodamos and know what I'm thinking 3 years ahead of time".

Thank god you don't handle the budget allocation for SE or any company at all. You'd pump all that money into stupid stuff that nobody needs only because of how you felt in the spur of the moment based on the daily change in weather.

Making the queue system less stressful is all we ask. The queues are fine. You can't keep using chip shortage as the answer to why we are upset.

No i am saying is this is the same problem we had months ago with the queue system and people getting booted out of queue or DC ingame going back into it. This happen way before this expansion release. They had time, it was not a problem that just fell out of the sky for them. But you knew that right? Of course you did.
