If massive corporations like IBM or entire industries, such as automotive, which are tens, hundreds, or thousands of times larger than SquareEnix can't get chips, what does that say about the chances of SE being able to get what they need?

The situation is incredibly complex. Have some empathy for CBU3, they all want you to be able to play the game and have done/are doing everything they can to allow you to.
Yeah. I was going to point out in another thread that SpacEx can't get the chips it needs and they are close to being a trillion dollar company. So, clearly Square Enix can't just pay higher prices for more servers.

The situation is not going to be resolved quickly either. All we can do is be patient, let SE know we aren't happy about being unable to login, and ride out the shortage.
