Let's blame covid 19 and the 'supposed' absence of semiconductor.. Alas, 7 days 'free' is a good, but I can't get more vacation days with it like thousands of people everyday.

Oh yeah I hard agree here, before the expansion there were like five to ten people in every major city on my world just idling. Whether it's two big moogle bros and a cavalcade of cats dancing in limsa, or just some power rangers standing in front of the path to the ul'dah aetheryte posing. Day in, day out, hour by hour. Normally it's just a small irritation on days with big queues. I finally get in and hey, guess who's still there every day after the expansion launches. Still not moving outside of their poses. Not leveling up, not playing the game. Just taking up valuable space from someone who actually does want to play the content. These exploits absolutely need to be fixed.New expansion launch and login queue I have no issues with. My only issue is that I'm pretty sure there are a very large amount of players finding ways to dodge the auto logout and keep their account and character in game when they aren't going to actually play it for a long time which is leaving less space on server to rotate the people that actually do want to play the game. I would say the people doing that are the ones with the biggest entitlement issues as they choose to contribute to making the issue worse for everyone else just for their own personal convenience.
I've had no login issues, so my feelings on this topic aren't that strong. However;
It's funny watching the same types of people mock any other competing game for hobbling and having problems, but are completely unable to handle valid criticism related to their own game of choice. Tribalism at its best I guess.
What do you actually want them to do? The reality is, yes, we subbed, we paid for early access, we paid for the games...there is literally nothing you can do, physically at this point except to unsub and 'sitck it to 'em'. We are all upset we can't play, but what are we going to do about it? I can't physically fly to japan or wherever it's coming from and stand there and make sure everyone is constantly working on the problem and making sure they take absolutely zero breaks until they fix this problem. They can't sprinkle magic pixie dust, as much as that would be cool, and make a superconductor appear. Do you want them to physically come to your home and hand you a $15 check for a free month? Do you want them to cry? Bleed? WHAT? Unable to just face reality, I'd think you were American.
you think making 50 different threads a day going "reee, go fuck yourself and fix your freaking shitshow, i want my money back and give me ingame currency and go free to play" is "valid criticism" ?I've had no login issues, so my feelings on this topic aren't that strong. However;

Ok, I'm not sure I follow your reasoning though, Square been quite offensive marketing final fantasy; they had/have a very generous trial mode and so on then stars aligned and people finally had it with Blizzard not listening to community feedback- it was never about infrastructure- the great migration happened and all budgets and projections of course got skewed, the decision was made to stop selling Final Fantasy XIV to new players for a while, that situation I can completely understand was out of the blue for Square Enix.you misunderstood my point it seems. i just like everyone else face queues of 8k+ people when i try to log in. i just like everyone else am effected by getting random dc's during the login process and getting thrown back to the back of the queue. that sucks and i won't say "oh yea, totally great, perfect launch" . what i am saying is that a lot of people act like square should just have bought more servers years ago so NOW this problem wouldn't exist, and to that i say sorry but no, that's not how businesses work, if they did you would call them charities.
But this expansion- that been hyped for a long time and with past history in mind can not been a surprise, I think this situation is no one elses fault but Square Enix and it smells greed long way, but I also believe this will backlash tremendously if not sorted out, it has nothing to do being a charity, they actively baited for players- now they got them and they can't service them.
What I would like them to do?
Add a timer if you get dc out of the game. You don't have a queue for 5 mins.
Make it so if you get a error in the queue, that it does not close the game, and reputs you back in the queue. So I can i don't know do other things and not have to worry about it.
If saying hey you should have done this before, and you knew it was going to be a issue. Since we had it before the expansion launch and plenty of time to be ready for it got this community feathers in a ruffle.
Also, the whole. "Well if you don't like it quit." thing is laughable. I know it is used as a deflection, or you want someone you dislike gone from the community. (i don't like most of you as well.). However, calling something out that they did wrong is not a grounds to quit the game when I enjoy the game when I get to play.
Your deflection of the issue is cute, but quitting is not going to punish the company unless it is a massive amount of players who would leave.

When the situation is this embarassing?
Yeah, 100%. Without enough negative backlash, the company will just continue to cut corners at your expense. I wonder if SE's business division is actively aware of how hilariously passive most of their consumers are.
You people act like the game is broken beyond repair. The 2002 error saves my place literally everytime. If you are kicked to the login screen all you have to do is login again. I am on ps5 and have it set to automatically login. I dont have this issue where I lose my place. It happened like once and that's being generous. Like how hard is it to just join the Q and keep watch? It's not hard at all. And even then there's no rush with the expansion. When congestion dies down you will perfectly be able to play with zero problems.Ah, so since you were able to get in within an hour, no problems or issues exist. Perhaps Yoshi should be informed that since YOU only had to wait an hour, the 7 days game time he's issued to the entire FFXIV community is unnecessary and they can stop worrying about the 2002, 4004, and other login errors that they're investigating. I mean, since YOU are able to get in within an hour, everything is fine right?
Or....
