Do you believe everything you are told?and there it is..
faulty numbers and math.
this is not the WoW you came from. FFxiv does not have 6 million concurrent active users.
if you were around earlier in all this, you would have seen a letter in which they stated they were unable to get hardware even ABOVE MARKET VALUE.
I know you are just venting, but gathering information and knowing what happened before you joined us, would be helpful in not making you look.... uninformed. in case you are not aware, there is a pandemic as well thats going on, it has impacted some things in the world... just in case you were off planet somewhere.
Ok, ok. I once went to space and saw a space cow, it mooed at me, was pretty awesome stuff. Ok, go tell your friends.

My guess there doing this because the japanese database is having the same problems. They can quit saying it's because they can't get any new servers from the chip shortage. They have had years to prepair the future database and to got more servers. This game didn't just come out but been out since 2010.

What they should do. Is give continued game time until it is resolved. The official launch time will be worse. Lets get real. I and hundreds of others feel that game creators today have abandoned preemptive measures on launch days. In the past few months alone we have had some of the worst launches in history due to "shortages". Look I get it. We signed a EULA that agreed to have these issues on launch. EVERY mmo in history has had its fair share of hickups. If you agree with the content being released as of yet I feel that this is the reason for the problems going forward. This shouldn't be a common type of releases for games, or rather, expect it to fail. I for one miss the times of hopping into a game on launch day and actually getting to enjoy a bit of content. Occasional bugs or crashes to be hand is fine. But to literally not be able to play content on early access or launch unless I get on at 2am my time. That shouldn't be the poster child for the future of gaming. I for one would like to see the limit of each server cap from the dev team. This would explain a bunch as to why it is limited. I did find a posting saying 18000 logins per server capping at 750 world. I cannot confirm this to be correct. I would personally like to see what the actual parameters are. Also, the response to 2002 error was a cop out completely. Its a typical reference to "its on your end not ours". I for one am hard wired t1 business line with zero drops in sight. So that isn't the issue.
I love my Final fantasy experiences. I love the content. I love the development. However, I don't agree with not being able to enjoy it. My 2 cents on the current status.
cool 3$ of saving baby.
Yoshida-san, you are the best! : 3

This is fair. I expected it to be crazy, but even now it is getting way more out of hand than I thought it would.
They lose nothing from giving away 7 days. I have been proven right after my initial launch post. The launch is atrocious. Not sure if they could have rented servers to alleviate the stress during he main period but they clearly didn't do a whole lot. The main issue remains the queue booting people out and putting them back at the start, an astounding failure in online gaming if you ask me. The game is good at least, very damn good even. Just get up earlier than everyone to play it.
Seriously, 7 days isn't gonna give anyone apart from blind fanatics and apologist of Square Enix some decent consolation. They should have given people Online store credit for glamours and mount. If I was square, I would give everyone 5 pure white and 5 jet black dye along with this 7 days of subs.

The thing is though that once people get in, the game seems pretty stable, so they definitely put in the right amount of effort on that front. It's just that actually logging in is a dumpster fire, and I can't/won't defend them on that. They did say that they would consider buying the required equipment from scalpers if they really needed to. I think they are to that point, and hopefully they do what needs to be done. They lose nothing from giving away 7 days. I have been proven right after my initial launch post. The launch is atrocious.
