I mean, I've been playing off and on all day with very reasonable queues.. but if that's how you want to spend the 7 days, go for it?

That was obviously a sarcasm.
I would love to spend this time playing the game, but so far I've been sitting in login queues for longer time than I was playing.

Well, snark and hyperbole aside, have you tried logging into an alternate world in the login screen? It's faster to go to an alt world at random then transfer to your main one once inside. You'll have to queue for it, but usually at most 15-20 min of marketboard/retainer nonsense and you're home.
It's fair.
Free game time until the congestion is resolved is leaking profits, but it's the correct thing to do. I just hope they can do something about the servers at some point in the near future, waiting for it to die down is merely hoping their player base dwindles enough that the issues vanish. They're having massive success right now and they literally can't hold onto it thanks to lack of server capacity. That's a major hit for any company.
I tried it once, but it didn't let me due to server congestion. Will try again next time, thanks for reminding me.Well, snark and hyperbole aside, have you tried logging into an alternate world in the login screen? I think the 3001 error is a problem with Tonberry and a recently isolated case for that server it seems by another thread. I'm sure they'll address this as well, as soon as they can.
Player
Four days in queue so far with total 3 hours played in game. Compensation is good but only when you’re able to play at least. Sadly, but I do not see much changes with queues so far.
Since I joined FF only on august 2021 I believe there are people who experienced the launch of other expansions – were such server problems in every launch?

What's happening is the giant swath of "locust" players are burning through the new content as fast as they can. Once they're done, they'll leave till the next installment. Once they have, servers will likely be at manageable levels again. There really is no "lost" capacity as far as retaining players happening... well.. there's probably a few disappointment quits but not enough to warrant investment in enough architecture to support launch/release levels year round. It's fair.

While I'm sure the company wishes this surge would be permanent, it very likely wouldn't be even if the servers were robust enough to support it. That's how launches and releases go.
They HAVE however stated that as soon as their preferred server expansion paths are open again, they're raring to go on that front.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Oh yes. Shadowbringers was fine however. Stormblood had an issue with a NPC started solo scenario but was quickly fixed. This is the worst the game has seen since 2.0.Four days in queue so far with total 3 hours played in game. Compensation is good but only when you’re able to play at least. What we suffer is "the curse of knowledge". For new people, most of the dungeons after level 24 is considered "intense". For us, we just don't understand why newbies do not "get the mechanic" when everything is spelled out for you right in front of your screen... For them Brayflox is HARD ("you want me to Esuna all of you? move out of the way? and cure three people???), Sunken Temple is "ZOMG WTF was that", Cutter's Cry was "intense" and Titan "baby trial" was "fck this, I swear I ran and out of the train track from hell".
