    I Really Want To Enjoy Monk....

    I just can't. Honestly if we look at everything we have on Monk and after putting it into practice a bit, I can say that it's been thoroughly ruined.

    Pros:
    Under 2 second GCD. I LOVE this. Please I want more of this, feels so good.
    Fluid control over combo direction. PB giving the 3 free skills and ending with formless fist is so nice for actually picking your spells, but really destroys the 'combo' feeling of the class. You do really get to pick the spells you use though more freely so I list this as a pro.
    Hight Potency. Honestly I think Monks will be top DPS, for if that matters to you or not. We got big numbers and they come fast.
    Personally I think Thunderclap is so cool. I wish it had potency on enemy, but the utility on it is nice and it looks cool so I'm in for it.
    30 second forms is nice. Not sure the practicality of it but it's just worth mentioning.
    Phantom Rush looks really cool

    Cons:
    oGCD culling and moving them to Blitz as a Weaponskill really makes the class feel barren and empty.
    No new skills. I refuse to consider Riddle of Wind an ability or skill. It's just not a well designed ability. We have the new blitz system, yes. But it takes old abilities that were already removed from the class (Steel Peaks and Howling Fist) and gives it to us in a new form as 'new' and then upgrades it as our 80-90 TRAITS. Only traits from 80-90 mind you.

    STILL useless abilities. How Anatman and Six-Sided Star still have the same functionality is beyond me.

    I WANT to like this class because it's nice for Monk to finally be getting some attention, but there's just so much going wrong for the class at the moment that I just can't. The class is just straight up bland. Honestly this is the worst rendition of the class I have ever seen. I have optimistically high hopes that things change, but in it's current state I just feel they've taken my favorite class and dunked it in a toilet after a fat man decimates it after thanksgiving.

    Monk was under 2 second GCD prior to EW beforehand. Perfect Balance used to let you freestyle before. Skills like Tornado Kick had relatively high potency (600, IIRC?) like. All of your pros were pros back in SHB.

    At best monk does what it used to do, but worse. At worst they gutted the class of a lot of what it used to do well and made it slower, weaker and clunkier.

    I really am a bit pissed that they just took ogcds and turned them into gcds, like holy hell they just can't make their minds up about Tornado Kick.
    And Elixir Field just why?

    I do like Beast Chakra but I don't like how they just took ogcds and put them in there.

    Monk feel like a fraud, a scam.

    To me there's definitely good thing but, the fact that they took so much away from Monk and got so little as a return is ( to me outrageous... ).
    There is barely no trade off, just a ripped off.
    I'm currently thinking into reaching SE somehow even wrote in japanese whatever and send complaint... The problem is it have been YEARS of "wtf" Monk.

    Put some Goddamn effort on this job... Just looking at DRG ( especially DRG who have been capable of great change and evolving properly ) NIN SAM and RPR now, it's clear that they don't know how to handle it. If they don't know at least they should give us back positionals. I don't care if people complaint about monk complaining, i'm gonna whine all day long until they make it back.

    I'll took the time to xp with Monk to get a "real" feedback at 90.

    Regardless, if a job should get a "scammed" title it'll be MNK...

    This might feel like a small thing but I don't get why Thunderclap needs to have charges.
    Why can't it be just an infinite ability?
    It's especially annoying because a trait gets wasted on it, lvl 84 could've been way more interesting ( maybe something to replace Elixir Field or a new ogcd? ).

    I love Thunderclap it feels great to use, it just feels pointless that it has charges.
    Two is enough already but even just for the sake of fun and also to make MNK feel more mobile it might as well just be an ability with no cd and lvl 84 could've gotten something more interesting.

    MNK is going to need some adjustments. Just continue to give feedback in the form of constructive criticism and suggestions.

    I'm still lv80 as I have been spending countless hours on dummies, dungeons, and NM raids. I managed to put together a rotation that is comparable damage (scaled down) to what I was putting out before. I can already see two significant changes that will improve the flow. Meditation skills are oGCD, and I believe the Masterful Blitz skills should also be placed on the oGCD. This will work just fine, and I am not sure why they chose to place them on the GCD. I am positive that this change will happen likely in 6.1. The second is I am finding zero reason to remove the positional skills. Any of them. I'm still doing them.

    The only thing I feel they need to do in regards to positional skills is let the leaden fist buff also remove positional requirements. I think and hope that they will add back a flank and rear bonus. I'm just not as confident about it as I am the blitz skills being moved to oGCD.

    Honestly that trait should give monk a third PB charge to make it feel less awkward and, like you say, give thunderclap infinite charges. There's no harm to having mobility that lets you zap around without doing damage.

    MNK should be a 1.5 gcd job with very limited ogcds imo. Anyone who did DRS as MNK with augmented law gear knows how intense and exhilarating it can get and that's not even 1.5 (not without added buffs/essences). Only 82 MNK atm but I kinda wish that thunderclap worked as is AND, had the option the dash forward similar to DNC so you can dash w/o a target needed.

    AFAIK they basically want to enforce the Chakra oGCD design mixed with way too many buff oGCDs. No, you have what...4 oGCD buffs now? Riddle of Fire, Wind, Brotherhood and perfect balance now? The class was always a bit too fast for how many oGCDs it had, so I find this largely a welcome change, but at the same time it also kind of is inundated with silly oGCDs again.

    Funnily enough, it has the same problem as Bard had in the past of relying heavily on a bad RNG mechanic to handle chakra, as well as overcap problems. Oh well, hopefully they refine it with time.

    I never felt like ogcds were a problem before on MNK.
    It's DRG that wanted/ wants to stay away from sks like the plague because it screws with their double weaving.
    They have way more of it now too, I actually feel the difference pretty clearly on Reaper too feels like I am weaving more it's a bit sad.

    Personally I think that they could make MNK feel less empty during downtime by making it so Snap Punch and Demolish also gave a Chakra if you hit the positionals.
