    4004'd for the 3rd time in a row when getting to single digits in queue. Been trying to log in for 4 hours now. The only thing i wish they did was disable World Visit for the duration of Early Access as I'm sure that's not helping matters. Though I know it was part of their plan to have it available to alleviate server specific congestion but clearly its DC-wide congestion that's forming to be the bigger issue.

    Since you took my post personally, I am guessing you identify as one of the aforementioned category of consumer. I will explain my point of view, which is all it will ever be nor will I claim it to be fact. We can sit here and type scenarios and examples that support our opinion. Early access is early access for a reason, if not why keep the official date for the 7th? Think logically about it, this period is to gauged how things are running, almost like an open beta, with the expectation to resolve any major impacting issues before the release date. This also plays into legal and service agreements. My opinion is that people demanding compensation for things that are not in the control of a company is laughable. Do you blame your cell phone company for allowing the spam calls we experience regarding your cars warranty? No. That same logic can be applied to this scenario, the number of people who want to play is not a controlled factor, can they prepare for it, of course. Will it still negatively affect consumers, yes. Do I have a solution, no does SE, perhaps they are working on it. However, demanding to notify the FTC and any other entity of this type is crazy.

    Sure, these things happen. Of course they do but that doesn't mean companies should get a pass when they can't provide services or they mess up. Do you think they would give YOU a pass for a few days if you couldn't pay your subscription on time? If you called them up and said, "Hey, so my budget is off this month because of things beyond my control and it's early days where I'm going to test it out and look for issues, almost like an open beta, before I finalize it. Is it cool if I miss my payment by a few days while i work out the bugs?" You think that would fly? If you don't reel corporations in they'll try to get away with all sorts of shady practices. And that's why we have bodies like the FTC. They exist for a reason. It's to keep companies in line and protect consumer rights. If you don't see the value in that then I have some oil I'd like to sell you.

    I used to work in telecom. And back then, we used to bill people a month in advance for local service. If they disconnected before their billing period ended, say 3 days before, we would credit them back those 3 days on their last bill because they didn't have service. Which, logically, makes sense. If this goes on for say 3 days, what's wrong with giving people back 3 days? What's so laughable about that? It seems to me to be the sensible thing to do.

    I see where you're going with the spam caller comment but it's not an apples to apples comparison. SE can't predict the number of people that want to play at any given time, true. But they do know their capacity relative to their customer count and this is not their first time doing an expansion. Besides, as the provider of a service, the onus is on SE to make that service available to their subscriber base. Not on the subscriber base to to limit itself to what SE can accommodate.

    Well I just got off of the game but just before i shut the game down i went back to the server that I had so much trouble logging into. it was at 19 people in queue! this issue is just the massive amount of people that are looking to enjoy the game, there is nothing wrong, though I agree PC should not loose their place, AND I think the game shouldn't shut down and make you relog, but instead drop you back to character select screen or the main menu at worst.

    My suggestions is if ONE world is giving you problems please try another world or another time to play. STOP ranting here and enjoy yourselves! BEST OF LUCK OUT THERE!

    I have no problem with waiting in queue; this is my third go at early access. However, the new lobby error waiting spot hold has one glaring issue, and that's the fact of if you get to what would be first in line and you're lobby server error removed from queue....you get reset to the back of the line. Today at 7:30 my husband got into queue, and it's now 11:15. He got lobby server error removed at 25. There was no possible way for him to reopen the launcher, log in, and get through the title screen before he woul dhave hit first in line.

    He was sent to the back of queue.

    At number 6,400.

    Please, please there needs to be some sort of grace period on this that's longer than 10-15 seconds or something that's able to keep people from getting bounced. Four hours in queue, starting at 3700, and now back again at 6000, is just...it's breaking my heart.

    Edit: and if your character info isn't loading on the login screen, you can't swap to login via a different world. So with lobby server errors causing trouble, that means it's almost impossible to do things like access the darn menu or try a different world. He'd be happy to do that...if he had character info!

    Canceling subscription...

    If i cancel payments to FFXIV NOW, what is going to happen?

    It may not belong here but any1 can help? I tried to find the answer but i couldn't.
    I get server connection error since EW started, ive been able to q for two hours max before error, by now numbers barely ever go below 7000 when i get kicked out.

    At this rate i dont think ill be able to play anytime soon, and once i start something else i wont look back for months, i just get hooked. I had a 4 month hiatus on FFXIV before when i continued to pay all along cuz "ill get back on it next week, just gotta finish this other game quick" and so on. I dont want to repeat that.

    So as MUCH as i really want to play now, i can not, and it inevitably will result in abandoning the game when i start a "replacement, comfort" one.
    Im just kind of afraid how that will impact my account if i go out now when the game is so full...

    I hope me giving up and accepting defeat does a favor for all others but i dont want to be set back/lose anything or even lose the inactive or whatever account itself due to my space being needed or idk, i really dont know anything about these things...
    Please can anyone give me advice?

    cant queue other worlds they have it disabled and server transfers are also disabled rn
