Viera and Hrothgar Megathread

Everyone except Miqo'te has a massive awful conehead with that hairstyle. I'm glad it seems to fit better on Viera, I can explain away the slightly more noticeable bump on the back as back-combing in my mind.

I like the pony tail though, rofl. Hmm, well, it makes her looking like how women used to look back in the 60's. I guess is simply because Viera heads obviously have different head meshs to say the Elezen for example. Like, when I mod hairstyles for the Khajiit in Skyrim using Humanoid hairstyles, you had to adjust the hairstyles using Outfit studio program to fit on the Khajiit heads. The Humanoid races in Skyrim all use the same head mesh btw with different face gen data. obviously that's not the case in FFXIV which each race have their own unique head mesh. By "bump" if you mean the bump at the top-back of the hair then it's always been there. I think that the rabbit ears makes it more obvious to see than in say the Elezen like here.

I guess it depends on the face really. Mine isn't bad at all.


I mean, to be fair, all of the races seem to have big foreheads with the hairstyle as well like Lalafell and etc.



I mean, hell, the adventurer hairstyle also gives them a large forehead as well.

From what I understand male viera don't have limitations on adding hairstyles, indeed. However, they don't want to add all of them for males because it would be unfair to the females. So they are only adding to the males the same ones they fix for the females to be fair. But it would be possible to just patch all hairstyles for males, they just want parity and fairness. More hairstyles will probably come in future patches as they fix them.

Thank you for the pics male and female. i was wondering if the males had the same ones. Wish the character showed all that were available without having to own them. Showing and being able to use should be two different things.

I think the hairstyle on your bunny looks pretty bad, it looks fine on the hyur though.

It looks exactly like that on other races too
That hairstyle is terribly designed & a horrible choice
