I don't think any of the Scions or even established secondary characters could be given a death that wouldn't feel shoehorned in for the sake of drama at this point.

Even in the second coming of a literal apocalypse? If anything, I think it'd be forced drama if nobody of note perished - especially when we're set to start a new story arc as of 6.1.

Furthermore, if only minor characters keep being killed off then that just makes it more difficult for new faces to get involved in the story. Let's not forget that other than Ryne, none of the characters that accompanied us throughout Norvrandt were native to the place. Let's assume 7.0 takes us to explore the rest of Hingashi. Imagine how boring it'd be if we're stuck travelling with the exact same set of characters once again?

It's been over a decade now where we've travelled with the Scions. It's time for something new and fresh, I think. Killing a couple of them and having most of the rest quietly retire would help make room in what has become a very bloated cast.
