I have decided to based on not wanting to deal with "omg so and so made a rotation guide with the leaks, you should be doing x and y, not y and x, didn't you read it?!"

I want my immersion, plot, and enjoyment of the conclusion.

So I personally will be ignoring everyone. At least until the story says 'ending or to be continued.'

I doubt I'll disable my chat windows, though I generally don't use trusts if I don't have to and would prefer to have the channel open if something I've missed needs to be communicated.

If I was determined to not talk to anyone, I'd just do everything I could with trusts.

Me! All pings from FFXIV Discords muted, going to silence any notifications on my phone too. In game, even though I doubt I'll be able to log in, I've put everything from custom emotes to yells in a different window from General. Had this way ever since I started playing.

It's an MMO, so not going to mute anything, as the talk in chat is part of the MMO-launch experience to me. I at least hope that people queueing the story dungeons/trials via duty finder have enough decency to turn chat on to communicate for the new fights (if several wipes happen)

If like 5 wipes happen maybe. But based on my Castrum experience ergh.

My biggest fear is. Because of the media tour people already know every skill changed. Me? I main SMN but have opted NOT to look at the new skills as I want to learn it on my own and not depend on someone who jumped at leaks and already made a rotation before anyone else could.

In Bozja not even 3 days after it was out, someone made a guide. After that? The whole mindset and flow of Bozja changed and you were expected to know how to clear castrum efficiently and know everything because omg someone made a guide and you should read that guide and not do any thinking for yourself. ... only 3 days of being released.

If people start on that crap it will RUIN the story. Hence, just not looking at party chat, and nuking it.

My chat will be in event mode and I'll avoid youtube and twitter until I'm done with the msq. I don't want anything spoiled for me. In shadowbringers launch I was foolish enough to open youtube and the first suggestion was a guide for the last boss... Not making that mistake again.
