Do I Have to Buy the Next Expansion to Get The Viera Hairstyles?

There's a precedent already and based on how spaghetti the code is even from a monetary point they would probably lose more gate keeping the female Viera hairs than if they didn't.

Not only would they have to code it so no one has access to said hairs without Endwalkers they would also have to deal with bad PR and for what? Get more people to buy Endwalkers?
FFXIV is more popular than its ever been, you would have to be on Blizzard levels of special to do this.
Even if they did gate the fix the people who weren't going to buy still aren't going to buy and the people who are going to buy are still going to buy.
Gatekeeping hair fixes for Viera behind Endwalkers a highly anticipated expansions does as much good to SE as Lying to your teacher that you did your homework that was due the moment you stepped into the classroom.
There's no logical reason to do it at all.

I highly doubt that, and they would try every excuse in the book to weasel their way out of their own mess they had created. The people here had every right to be pissed at them after the launch of Shadowbringers. I mean, I won't deny they've done great things, but then again, a lot of companies did great things do, but one shouldn't ignore the very nature of mega gaming corporations and their greed. Blizzard is one of those companies that I looked up to as gaming heroes, and now look at them. It's same for companies like CD Project Red, Bioware and etc.

There's a big difference. Firstly, Blizzard doesn't exist anymore. The studio has nothing to do with the original Blizzard, it's Activision Blizzard now. They kept the Blizzard name there only to squeeze money out of the brand.
This was apparent pretty much since day 1, they never hid their monetization intentions, there's no passion behind new activision blizzard products, only greed. There's a lot of passion behind FFXIV still.
Secondly, SE is a Japanese company, while the differences are getting smaller and smaller, in Japan the customer is still treated as valuable, they know without the customers they are nothing.
In the western world companies, people are viewed only as fodder for the corporate beast, but we let them do it to us, so we deserve the treatment.

Anyway, the hairstyles won't be locked behind the expansion, that would only happen if the way of obtaining them would be locked behind EW content, like finishing a raid.
The male Viera is likely to be locked behind the expansion, every new race was, this may only be a half of the race, but it's still likely to be the same.

They'd only be if you had to get them from content like raids, and even then I am pretty sure you could still buy them on the market and use them if they're sellable.

Don't underestimate the greed of corporations.

The notion that they'd even consider that people would be buying an expansion just for a hairstyle is pretty laughable.
I have a very hard time believing that ever entered their conscious at all.

Hair won't be lock by expansion they have never did that in history of this game I been playing since 2.0 only thing that is lock behind ew is the jobs and male viera.
