Do I Have to Buy the Next Expansion to Get The Viera Hairstyles?

Anyone else? Like, is there any official sources that says hairstyles are going to come out in patch 6.0 in December 3rd? What about male Viera? As I stated, it's very greedy of them to charge us for a fix or fixes that we've been saying for years. It's the "pay money to fix problems that they've created" kind of scheme here.

Most of the revenue the game makes via subscription doesn't go back into the game, but to Square Enix, who use it for other stuff. So their content is still on a budget.

Anyway, I am fairly certain the new hairstyles for female Viera will come out at least with patch 6.0 or 6.1. Everybody currently playing the game (whether or not they own EW) will probably get access to that when the game goes live again. Again, whether or not male Viera are restricted to those who own the EW expansion or not is unknown.

Yeah because I've looked for official sources everywhere, and couldn't find any in regards to these things. Like, I can't buy the new expansion due to monetary reasons(tight budget and all), and I just find it odd that they want to charge us money on fixes that we've been asking for 2 years, esp given that we already pay them around 15 USD every month just to play their game. Honestly, I'm disappointed on how less transparent they are when it comes to these things. This link does insinuate the idea that the male viera is locked behind the expansion:

They are pretty transparent with a lot of things. Certain details aren't announced close to or as a patch/expansion launches. I'm sorry you can't afford the expansion and all, I know what it's like to be in a poor financial situation...but you seem surprised by how they are handling things, and I don't see why you should be. They've handled things pretty consistently since 2.0's launch. They didn't just suddenly become greedy either. They always have been. But they also learned a long time ago that upsetting one's customers tends to lead to hardship. I think overall they are pretty respectful of their customers, but they do make mistakes every now and then. This topic isn't one of those things, in my opinion.

I mean, not really. If it's added with the expansion then it's technically expansion content. I can't really speak for hairstyles, but I guess it could go either way. Male Viera will likely require purchasing Endwalker. Shadowbringers was required for Hrothgar and Viera. Either way, there's no scheme here. It's just good business. They provide the product, people buy the product. Pretty simple stuff.

No, and these were the problems that people were asking for to get fixed for the past two years, and if they're going to put such fixes behind an expansion then it's just greed on their end. At least in ESO, paying monthly subscription is opitional, and you can get around 1,650 crowns and access to all of their DLCs besides the latest expansion. The fact that people here are giving me different answers on this matter really does showcase on how less transparent they are. Like, what does patch 6.0 is going to give to those who aren't planning to buy the expansion? I tried to find such information, but couldn't find any due to the fact that they conflate it with the expansion that you need to buy if you will.

Just because there's nothing official (yet) doesn't mean there's not a reliable precedent that has been set. I would look at past releases and go from there. At least in ESO, when you buy say costumes, it is accessible to all of your characters on said server rather than buying costumes that cost twice as much in ESO for one individual character to use. Sorry, but no company is ever anyone's friend, but obviously they differ in the degree of greed with their costumers. I've been asking if the female Viera hairstyles are going to come out for free for all people in patch 6.0 without the need to buy the expansion, but the fact that people here are saying without any official sources to back their arguments seems to be mere speculations or something.

We'll actually know for certain when the patch notes drop, which will indicate what content is available to free trial players, what content is available to people who own Stormblood/Shadowbringers, and what content is available to people who own Endwalker.

Based on precedent, the female viera hairstyles are probably going to be immediately available. But the addition of the male viera is a very unprecedented addition, so it's much harder to guess.

It's just less than 2 weeks now so just be patient and check by yourself at launch later.

But SE never locked common hairstyles to expansions, if I remember correctly...
