ARR Relics were only nerfed twice. Heavensward, then Stormblood. Waaaaay easier than they originally were. Still annoying lol!

If I could edit one of those wiki who provided the guides for ARR relics grind, I'd be more than glad to put a large, red disclaimer: "Do this only if you hate yourself."
"Outside obvious jokes/sarcasm, I aim to convey my words to the future readers who may come across mine posts. Can I change -your- mind, somehow? Potentially... but that's not why I'm writing. You and I have wrote our piece(s). We don't necessarily need to change each other's mind. But we can change other's."
Eliminating the RNG is how the ARR relic quests were nerfed the most. But something else to consider is imagine doing them when lv50 was the cap, ALONG with the stab-me-in-face-instead RNG factor. I think it was one of those concepts that carried over from FFXI, where they did not intend for everyone to have a relic; only those without lives and truly committed to just one job. An ARR relic quest will still set you back timewise quite a bit despite the nerfs, but I think a player could get every single relic in ShB done in the time it would take you to finish one ARR relic unnerfed.
Anima can also be pre-farmed with poetics. 1st time around is a long slog all the same. Second time you've unlocked all the quests from various steps so you can pick up the singing clusters weekly and dump poetics/ GC seals into bones, shells, ore, moonstone, 4x seal items etc. I have all that ready by the time I feel like doing another one.
The 4-seal items are also trade-able, so if you have gil, you can just buy them from the Marketboard.
If you're a hunt train follower, you tend to swim in currencies that can be used for anima weapon. For allegory and nuts, they can be turned into gear for GC seals.
Really wish they nerf Eureka weapon to not be NM train dependent, similar to how the first area of Eureka works with two currencies.
