So someone using an auto-translate feature to be perfectly clear about what is needed, in any of the game's supported languages, is enough to make you act like a child just because you take it as some form of passive aggression?

I guess I shouldn't be surprised, but honestly? Grow up lol.

I had a similar initial thought, and for the first message they put out that could be a fair assumption, but after the healer responds in (relatively) plain English, it seems obvious that they disagreed with the advice rather than failed to understand it.

Some people seem confused, so I'm just gonna add: the auto-translate function is definitely very helpful for getting across things to people who speak different (but supported) languages, but it is also useful when you cannot type quickly but need to get something across. You start typing something, you hit tab, you choose the word or words that you want and hit enter, repeat a few times and you have what is sort of a sentence. It's like an auto-complete with limited options.

It just... also has the arrows to indicate it's auto-translated.

Cubsbane explained it well enough - it's useful in case someone's primary language isn't English (or whatever alternative, depending on the DC), but it is also just a quicker way to type out what's needed. It can also help people to find the specific skill name, as saying very generalized things like "tank stance" can confuse newer players (for instance), whereas auto-translating the actual skill name is more helpful.

Whether or not someone actually takes the advice is irrelevant. Auto-translate is there because it's quick, useful, and can support multiple languages on the off chance someone's client isn't set to the DC's primarily-used language, or they don't understand the region's primary language. People who won't take advice, won't take it regardless of whether you use auto-translate or type out a long sentence.

Which is why people who take something as inane as a quick method of typing as 'annoying' are absolutely ridiculous. Deciding to do the very opposite of what's being asked of you, on top of it, is literally just acting like a whiny child throwing a tantrum.
