Been replaying MSQ via NG+ while also unticking the auto skip CS feature, so I’d like to add some thought into this matter.

While I understand why some would like cut some slack and give people the time to watch the cutscene leisurely, I don’t quite get it why do some other reserve this only for ‘new player/sprout/first timer.’ Does it mean these individuals are okay to just start the encounter right away if the said watcher isn’t new and/or enjoying the cutscene in any ways, thus potentially ruining a part of their enjoyment?

Such thought sprung up because I had some randoms across my first ShB NG+ endeavors who tried to bait me to skip the starting cutscene by commencing battle countdown; specifically from Titania & Hades trials. I’m aware that this isn’t the norm—arguably once in a blue moon. But I couldn’t help but just ”Why, though? :/“. I, too wanted to enjoy the NG+. I would go in with trust NPC if the game allowed me to but there is none for Trials.

    EDIT:
    • I don't mind if people early pull for me, regardless of what role I'm playing. It takes a skill to actually wipe an encounter that early, especially when the game has moved away from Toto-rak/Stone Vigil/MSR-styled cutscenes in later expansions.
    • I, too had been guilty of early pulling a few times in the past: another reason for me to not get bothered by somebody early pulling for me.

As a Tank or Healer (I don't play DPS as much) I will always wait.

Usually this gets the impatient ones to wait too.

I've seen some not wait and die while I watch. They wait after they run back.

If im playing a tank and someone pulls i let them die[since everyone else will die anyway].
If a sprout or returner is new to the duty ill let em watch their cutscene. not having time is non sense, if u dont have time dont queue at all until you do.

Just lock the boss barrier until everyone's out of the cut scene. Most of them are 20 seconds or less anyway.

But I'd say most people actually stops.
Only time I see people more often do not is during MSQ roullete.

Because it's usually a new player/sprout/first timer that is watching them. There isn't a way to know that someone is using NG+. They might just be someone who is unaware of the automatic skip for the ones that have been viewed previously.

The thing is, if you use the duty finder you take the risk that there are people who will not wait for you. This btw. goes both ways for both new and old players though, the risk for experienced players in roulette is just that they get together with newbies and the duty takes double the amount of time.

Funny thing is, both these "risks" can be easily avoided by...wait...premade groups and the partyfinder! If you want to have your roulette done as fast as possible, grab all your experienced friends and don't que solo and complain about getting thrown in with fellas which are running lvl70+ dungeons with the HW relic! And if you are a newbie out there to experience stuff for the first time grab some other newbies or mentors or friendly players and do stuff on min itemlevel and also without jumping into the duty finder solo.

If you jump into the duty finder solo, no matter if newbie or veteran, you take the risk at the end of the day cause yeah it's not only your experience that matters.

    Guilty.
Especially when I'm with a Dragoon or Black Mage I'll often be all "gotta respect their timers and keep going" and totally forget about cutscenes.

The usual forum trash talk. Being considerate of others is akin to a superpower apparently. I always wait and will continue to do so. And I also won't skip cutscenes or rush when I get them. It's not even worth thinking about it. And, as always, the actual silent majority is nice. Getting worked up about a few seconds of cutscenes. lol Imagine.

Most instances have cutscenes under 10 seconds and aren't an issue. The key word being most.

Toto-rak? You bet I'm going to pull regardless of what role I am. Stone Vigil? Absolutely. It is not my fault that 8 year old content has 5+ minute cutscenes. As for Alliance Raids, if your tanks and healers are ready, there's no reason to delay. 1 person does not get to hold up 7, or in that case 23 other people. As special as the NieR raids are with their pre-final boss cutscenes, Bunker and Tower have gateway bosses that lead into an already unskippable cutscene for the true final boss. So you know that I'm not waiting to pull beforehand.

The actual solution to this problem is to keep cutscenes within instances short and to a minimum. The longer, drawn out stuff can wait until after the dungeon/raid.
