Part of the strat on that was to procrastinate and not attach the second chain until right before the recovery bar was going to fill so everyone could just dps on it while it just stayed still and did nothing. It didn't pop up in HW, it popped up back in ARR within a week or two of WoD's release. It was the easiest method to getting people to organize so the place wasn't such an utter crapshoot...which still didn't stop the fools trying to push DPS instead of putting the chain back on Cerberus (which 90% of the time led to a wipe), but it at least made the fight a bit more bearable.

I did that raid when it came out every week, sometimes multiple times, and I never saw the ABC method pop up until early heavensward.
You must be really unfortunate to have to have abandoned this - each time I have run it (with many new people) they paid attention and yes we may have wiped a few times but that is to be expected for totally new people. Never did I consider abandoning it as that is just defeatist.

Maybe it's just you, or you're not explaining it right.
I was spamming World of Darkness a few weeks ago as part of grinding my ARR relic to Zeta, and even though there were a handful of wipes, every single run completed eventually with no exception. I suspect that your lack of patience and refusal to see a run to completion are to blame for your predicament. I don't even remember wiping on the same boss twice except for one instance in which there was a troll who kept deliberately pulling before everyone was in the room and the fight could be explained. That troll was kicked from the group (the one and only time I've seen a vote to dismiss succeed in this game), and once he was gone, the boss was a one-shot deal.
The purpose of the timer is to make it more painful for people like you to abandon a group as opposed to just being patient and sticking it out. It seems to be working as intended.

You can still do this. It makes it possible to kill him before he breaks his chains a second time. It actually does make the fight a bit easier.

The problem with this one is people mess it up and just grab the chain and stand there, which eventually drops the chain and now you have no chain and his "weak" period ends and he starts one shotting the alliance.
WHERE IS THIS KETTLE EVERYONE KEEPS INTRODUCING ME TO?
Yeah, no I don't think so.

You missed out the most important factor: HIS DC. You're running WoD in Aether DC, while he's on primal. Us in Aether have better clear rates than them, and i also dread WoD because people will by no means not stand on the plattforms when doom is up if they dont have the debuff, just to get others killed. This seems highly implausible. I've run it daily for probably every third Alliance Roulette the last... damn... half-year? I've seen 2 wipes. I've never seen an outright failed run. That's out of over 50 runs. Most were done in under 25 minutes. It's quite nearly as easy as LotA or the Tower.

2 wipes? O_o for WoD?
2 wipes there and i'm out.
People are seriously not trying if that happens..
