I think this is extremely reasonable. This way people can show off their achievements without funneling dev resources into massive rewards that only a handful of people can enjoy.
I'm happy they're bringing back old rewards, that way people can enjoy PvP more and get modes like RWs and what not popping more instead of just during Moogle Tomestones, which is still a good incentive but only lasts for X amount of time. Also helps with the win traders and abusers the same people who've been abusing Feast since Season 1-2.
everyone just hold their horses. we don't know for 100% sure yet IF they're going to make old rewards available again. they never confirmed it.

This is what I'm speculating as well. Technically, recolors wouldn't impinge on the Feast leaderboard seasonal rewards; it's not the same. If it's the green, blue or purple Magitek Conveyor, it's a Feast reward. If it's any other color, it's not. Same goes for the Hellhounds, Roaders and whatever that machine driller thing is. They are more than capable of doing it, we all know about reskinned mounts; most of us can think of like half a dozen off the top of our heads outside of EX trial mounts. Gear seems a bit trickier, the undyeable channels would be the only thing to differentiate it.I just look at what they did with the Frontline Onsal mount, they later made it an Unreal trials token reward just it's dyed red. It wouldn't surprise me in the least bit to recycle things that were other cheeves with a new color or something small just to say we have new rewards! Then call it a day.
Having said that, I too find it amusing that some people are getting salty over the thought of their pixels getting shared. I can count on one finger how many people I see in like half a year actually using their Hellhounds, Magitek Conveyors, and especially the Roaders in places like hunt trains, Eureka/Bozja and Frontlines. Most are probably collecting dust, unused and all but forgotten anyway. I used to joke how the only other content with artificial scarcity in a zero-sum system is Housing Savage, and that one has a timer imposed before land is forfeited; meanwhile Feast rewards had no such caveat. I think someone here suggested continued access to Feast rewards should be tied to so long as you continue to place in the previous season. You don't place, you lose access to the rewards. I kind of liked that idea. Anyway, not expecting old Feast rewards to be flat-out transplanted to the new system, maybe recolors, but if they do end up doing that, I'll have a good laugh.
I'm more than glad old feast reward will become available again. There's Hellhound mount that I want from season 3 and season 4 that's like from patch 3.56-4.0 and it's of course still unobtainable...
I only have the Faepup minion lol.

Part of that is the fact that only 100 characters can have them in each datacenter, a single character can have multiple PvP mounts and several of those characters may be on the same account. A very minute portion of the player population have those 12 Feast mounts.Having said that, I too find it amusing that some people are getting salty over the thought of their pixels getting shared. Wasn't that also a problem? People filling out the top 100 with multiple characters. So realistically the number of players to actually get the mount is much lower.

I mean time limited stuff sucks still have to earn it now or otherwise so what does it matter. That would be really, really sad to say the least. Not only will it completely delete any Value those items have, but it also disrespects all the time and Work people put in to get those rewards. (At least the first 4 Seasons).
I myself learned to play a Healer and played countless matches often paired with frustration to get the Season1/2 rewards. Now everybody who plays Frontlines will run Around with Season 1/2 crown and the iconic Coat?
One can just hope that there is a missunderstanding.
Edit:
I see most of you are on board with this but of course you are not in my shoes. Well, i guess we can give everybody everything.
Had i known that those items would become available for basically free, i wouldn't have put so much effort in obtaining them. I played PvP in every MMO i touched, not just because of rewards but because i enjoyed it. In FF though i specifically took more time to learn how to play Healer so i have a chance to get those rewards, i guess it is only a matter of time till 1.0 Items are given away too since we now go the route to eliminate anything Special.
Edit2: I just remembered that Yoshi P once said that they will not bring back old Seasonal Feast rewards, so the Feast items mentioned will in deed be the ones that were available all along with Wolf collars. Thread can be closed.

FOMO is one of the things I really dislike in games in general, and with XIV being largely free of it the seasonal PvP rewards have always seemed like a weird outlier.
If they really do just go all out and make everything available, the collectors who got top 100 in the past would still have the advantage of not needing to grind for the stuff they already own.
So to keep a mount/glamour that you really like you would have to basically play Feast every day for the rest of the game's life? This sounds as fun as the current housing system that is also widely liked and popular because people lose their house when they try to take a break from the game![]()
