FFXIV 6.0 comes out December 7th. Pre-release is December 3rd

I originally took a week of vacation for release cause I have to use vacation or I lose it and I wasn't able to go anywhere this year.... I then realized I had to use 4 weeks of vacation before the end of December so I told my HR to just plug it in wherever and.. well. I would be annoyed if this wasn't still part of my vacation.. but it is.


I guess I'll just use those first 2 weeks for something more productive then, and then that will justify not seeing the outside for 2 weeks while I no-life this jazz.

In addendum, I've never seen a LL go south faster. It's literal anti-hype, as in its actively hurting my enthusiasm for the game. Furthermore, it made the trailer kind of goofy and comes off as a distraction.

As for the delay even if they announced the delay the moment the choice was made people would still be losing time off. There would still be people upset about it crying why was the delay not announced a month ago or 2 months ago.

May be hard to believe but some companies require far more then a 1 month notice for time off requests and changes. Until a game is released a delay is always possible and thats the risk you take when using vacation time for game releases.

But a 2 week delay... It will change things but if they face critical bug it won't be enough. 2 weeks will be enough to polish the game.

The message is "It's not ready" and I don't believe 2 weeks will magically change this.

I can genuiely say if he feels he has broken our trust/faith, then we have failed as a community imo
Delays happens, it sucks but it is for the greater good in the end

I have played XIV nonstop since 1.0, and this 2 week delay is nothing. Sure my last 2 weeks vacation sucks to not be able to play XIV Endwalker as I planned. But I will make the most of it by playing some more Far Cry 6 instead, watch movies and hang out with my friend. Even drive to Sweden to buy lots of goodies to enjoy for when Endwalker does launch

Naoki Yoshida, if you read this, my respect and trust in you as a producer, director and as a friend I havent been able to meet, will never be broken. You have poured so much of your life into making this game the best one I have played in my 41 years of playing videogames and you should be damn proud of it.

I wonder what this means for the seasonal events. All Saints' Wake was pushed back to make way for Endwalker, which has now moved.

I hope we won't be trying to have a serious conversation in Limsa with all the cartoony seasonal decorations around.

This was brought up on stream and Yoshi-P confirmed 2 weeks was enough. This isn't a delay because of ground-breaking bugs. He admitted it was mostly selfish reasons on his part and for adequate QA.

As Hiyo pointed out the expansion software itself is not the cause. Its stability issues with the servers and some lore details Yoshi wants to fix.
