Every skill you earn while using a specific weapon does not get categorized as a "weaponskill." Thus, Life Surge, Featherfoot, Foresight, Chameleon, etc. are not weaponskills.

Weaponskills are the attacks that cost TP and create that environmental dimming + spotlight effect when you perform them, and they are usually part of a combo tree.

* * Actions can roughly be divided into the following three categories:- Weaponskills: Actions performed by Disciples of War that require TP or MP.- Magic: Actions performed by Disciples of Magic that require MP.- Combat Abilities: Actions that grant various status effects.
Thats any action, any at all that requires TP or MP by a DoW.

Life surge, for example cost MP thus is a WS.



As someone mentioned earlier, Holy and Freeze were chosen because White Mage and Black Mage don't actually get any weaponskills. Well DUH. By definition WS are only perforemed by DoW.

Weaponskills (WS)
Weaponskills are offensive actions performed with your weapon. Barring a few exceptions, weaponskills require TP to perform.

Magic (Mag.)
Magic, or spells, are actions that require MP to perform. Barring a few exceptions, magic is subject to a casting time.

Then scroll down through the charts where each and every single action in the game is actually noted whether it's a weaponskill, ability, or magic. "Weaponskill" is not some supertype blanket term for every single DoW skill that costs TP. Weaponskills are a subtype of actions that are specifically attacks that use your equipped weapon and usually cost TP.

The supertype blanket term you should be using is "actions." Why is this so hard to comprehend?
