It became a boring class. As you are doubtless already aware that I'm inclined to try out the class, but some of these statements/ "rumors" as I saw as well as the meme going around the class makes me think the class to be seemingly in a state of neglect as we go into Endwalker:
1. Certain fights punish tremendously with two SCH in the party. (which what the other healer player plays is out of my control)
2. Choice of fairies are purely cosmetic and their AI is not the best.
3. Sage overshadows Scholar as shield-healer.
To summarize, the impression I'm having is that playing the class may cause inconvenience for others, keeping up your pet is a pain in the butt and there will be a better alternative.
What is actually happening on a daily basis as a scholar main or just healing in different content in general? When and what does the class excel at? Much appreciated.

it became a miserable souless glitchy shell and it is now going to be completely overshadowed by sage in 2 weeks.
Its had too much removed and nothing meaningful added

Scholar got more powerful because of other changes though. Chain Strategem had always been 120s cooldown, but other rbuffs like Dragoon's Battle Litany was always 180s, so you'd never get both buffs each time together in the fight. Now they are going down to 120s, and that means Scholar is going to naturally contribute to more raid damage with it's 10% buff, which also gets slightly stronger in a stat squish because 10% with lower caps is 'more'.
Yeah, you really should trim back your expectations on Sage. I plan on switch to it too, but the kit on sage could more punishing to mistakes. And if you arent moving your kardias around frequently then you are probably just doing it wrong.

Scholar used to be the most fun, amazing job in the game. Now, it is a bore fest to play.
Player : フェアリーのミラプリも作ってるんですか?
(Any plan on Fairies glamour?)
Yoshi'p Sampo: フェアリーはエギではないので、予定がないです。残念ながら。
(Since Fairies aren't Egi so, No.)

Based on all the response I'm getting, I get that the job is viably not fun to play at the moment.
I'm a dps and quick-action person myself, I guess none of the healers available right now is for me, Sage however seems quite promising as they heal through doing damage. Thanks all!
In the meantime I'll try out the support class Bard.

SCH is viable, but it suffers from the same problems ALL healers have:Based on all the response I'm getting, I get that the job is viably not fun to play at the moment.

Very little healing actually necessary and very few abilities and spells to do something else than healing.
Sage has the same problem than SCH. You will find yourself using Dosis over and over again because you don't need to use GCDs to heal.

What Sage info have you been looking at?
Because while yes, they have a heal (about the same as the SCH fairies auto heal) attached to their gcd damage spells, the gameplay will boil down to: eukrasian Dosis, Dosis, Dosis, Dosis, Dosis, dosis.

A heal on one player, at that. The fairy heals the entire party whether you are DPSing or not.
By how I keep seeing Sage described, people seem to believe it has a DPS rotation, with skills that function like Storm's Path. I wonder how opinion of the job shifts when they realize it's Dance Partner with Dark Arts

tbf, the fairy also only heals one target at a time, and at semi-random at that, so between SCH and SGE the choice for the autoheal is basicly control vs flexibility.
Ofc that'S only a choice becasue they took our ability to target embrace from us at the start of ShB.
